
Objectives & Blooms Taxonomy
I use to think that lesson planning and objectives were just simple. I now think that they are very complex and must be thought about critically to ensure that teachers are utilizing Bloom's ABCD model so that students understand the purpose of the lesson and what is expected.

Visible Thinking
I use to think that visible thinking was not used as often. I now think I still don't understand the logic behind it. I struggled with Think, Pair, Share. I'm not sure why it didn't click. I read about the topic and from what I saw incorporated it correctly. I plan to continue to research more about this topic.

ISTE*S and Technology Integration
I use to think that technology was always apart of the education world. I now think that it serves a vital role in the way classroom operates and serves as a good tool for students. The ISTE standards for students and teachers is a great guide to ensure that technology is being integrated correctly. Due to the constant upgrades to technology it is key that districts across the US are up to date regarding the best ways to utilize in classrooms worldwide.

Assessment & Objectives
I use to think that Assessments should only measure what was taught. I now think that Assessments should be thoughtfully planned and a mixture of assessments should be incorporated into daily lessons. For example, formative assessments are used to make sure students are understanding the lesson while it's being taught. A follow up quiz at the end of lesson can measure the student's understanding of the entire lesson.

Lesson Procedures
I use to think that Teachers just followed a routine. I now think that Teachers are more organized and thoughtful about how they start each lesson. It is critical to map out the introduction, procedure and closure of each lesson. I learned that the lesson plan should be well written so that any other teacher can follow along and execute the lesson as if they wrote it. I do have much more to practice on when it comes to lesson plans in general. This class helped me realize lesson planning takes time and effort.

Google Productivity Tools
I use to think that no one used Google Tools. I now think it is used more than other tools available. I have never personally never used google docs, powerpoint, excel etc. unless it was for school related project like this one. It was easy to use and the collaboration feature is very unique. I plan to utilize this tool for my research article so that my committee members will have easy access for edits.

Concept Mapping
I use to think that when we did bubble maps in grade school it was to "map" our thoughts. I now think that this concept is still the same. The concept map helped us plan our lesson and organize our thoughts in uniform fashion. The connectors helped with the visible display of how our lesson would come together through separating the parts but also seeing how they work together.
