Vanessa Rosewood had a wonderful summer vacation. During her summer, her mom surprised her for her 12th birthday. Her mom took her to the beach to go see the dolphins and made her a delicious meal consisting of cauliflower casserole and meatloaf. Unfortunately, summer went by too quickly and school (7th grade) starts tomorrow, which did not excite her too much, possibly due to her Dyslexia.

Dyslexia is a learning disability that makes it difficult to read and write. This includes reading or learning words slowly, talking late, and struggling with spelling and writing assignments.

Uh...um...sure.

She got the first two words out, but then said the next word backwards. When her classmates began laughing, she ran out of the room.

After a rough day at school, she was greeted at home by her puppy, Lucky. Her kitty, Daisy, was on her bed. She gave both of her animals a lot of love. There was a voice calling her to come downstairs.

Vanessa told her mom everything that happened at school. Little did she know her mom already knew that. Mr. Scott called and told Vanessa's mom what happened, but he was also concerned. She told her mom that she wants to become a writer, but with her dyslexia she doesn't see how it is possible. Her mom encouraged her that she can do anything as long as she doesn't give up.
