GOD
The Trinity is composed of three distinct persons, but they are not separate and form one God. The trinity's three parts are known as – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.”
The Trinity is one of those things we will never be able to fully understand and therefore can only describe in part.
God the Holy Spirit is also fully God. Because both the Father and Son are God, it makes sense that all three are mentioned with equal importance in passages like Matthew 28:19 (“baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit”
God
God’s attributes will never change. His characteristics will always be the same.
God’s purposes for everyone will never go away. God has a plan for everyone you have ever met.
God’s promises will never change. What God promised from the beginning will never change.
God has been around since the beginning of time and before time was even a thing. John 1:1 affirms this saying, " in the beginning was the word, and the word was with God, and the word was God."
man
God created man. God did not need to create man, but he chose to create man and we bring God glory.
God says in Isaiah 43:7, "Everyone who is called by my name.... I created for my glory."
Humans were created in the image of God. This means we have an innate sense of right and wrong that is a reflection of God's perfect sense of right and wrong. We also have a spiritual part to us just as God does.
God called man to "be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth' and to take care of his land
However because of sin, God's image of us is partly distorted. The good news is Jesus helps make God's image of us better.
What is Sin?
Sin is any failure to conform to the moral law of God in act, attitude, or nature. sin is in complete contradiction to god because he cannot sin. we should not blame God for sin. Instead God made humans and allowed us to have the choice to sin. sin entered humans through Adam and Eve. When Adam and Eve ate from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil sin was committed. As a result humans were given the penalty of death and that will be passed down to all humans.
Romans 3:23 states, "all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God".
Jesus/Christ
Jesus was fully and completely human and continues to reside in his perfect but human body in heaven.
While Jesus lived on earth he was without sin.
Jesus had to be fully human to serve as our perfectly obedient representative. His representative obedience as a man is in contrast to Adam's representative disobedience for man. Jesus is the one mediator as God and man.
Jesus is fully God so he could bear the full penalty of sin for the entire world.
Jesus/Christ
Since Jesus was human he is able to "sympathize with our weakness" and understands the daily temptations we go through.
What is the atonement?
God is Righteous and Just
Because God is righteous and just, he must treat people as they deserve. Therefore, he must punish that which is against him, that is, sin. However, sometimes God forgives people and does not punish them for their sin. How can he do that if he is just? God is able to forgive people because Christ died to take God’s punishment for sin upon himself.
The work Jesus did In living and dying to earn our salvation is sometimes referred to as the atonement . Someone had to take the punishment of our sins, and that someone was Jesus. Through this act of being a perfect human and be the ultimate sacrifice all humans are forgiven of their sins.
what is resurrection?
jesus's death was not like others. While he did die for our sins, three days later he rose from the dead and forty days after that ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God.. after Jesus rose from the dead he had a new type of human life which included a perfect body free of aging, scars, or death. jesus's resurrection also ensures our right standing with god. Jesus's work of dying for our sins was complete and the resurrection affirms this.
how to be a follower of Jesus
now that you know about all God has done for us. It's time to start living your life for him and become a follower.
Being a Christian means devoting your life and your heart to God and giving Him all your glory. To be a true follower of Christ you have to believe in life and death and the resurrection. "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16
