Lost in the crystal clear waters 

of the Atlantic, rose a mystical 

island. Under its abundant 

emerald palm trees, sky-high 

trees and lilac flowerbeds hid 

the softest ivory sand, yet 

untouched by humankind.

The island was governed by the most 

powerful animal, Lenny the lion. He 

had a beautiful mane, a strong 

athletic body and a mighty roar, which 

could be heard from kilometres away. 

Lenny was the undisputed king of the 

island.

One day Lenny woke up with a 

disturbing tickling in his throat, but 

he didn’t mind and got along with 

the day as any other. The following 

day, the tickling caught up with his 

throat and chest, becoming more 

annoying. The day after that, the 

pain was so intense that he could 

barely speak and move. On the 

fourth day of sickness, Lenny 

realised his life was on the line and 

called the whole island to an 

emergency meeting. 

From the North, came the pack of dogs running swiftly.

From the South, came the crocodiles crawling determinedly.

From the East, came the flock of toucans flapping their 

wings briskly.

And lastly, from the West, came the lousy colony of rats 

scurrying noisily. 

They all met around the ceremonial tree, were Lenny was 

carried in the arms of his fellow lions and set on the highest 

branch to make his announcement. 

With a shaky voice, he delivered the terrible news: 

- “Dear islanders, a deadly sickness has invaded my 

body and now I can no longer speak, breathe and 

think properly. This is why I called you, I need your 

help.”

The whole island trembled in fear.

- “What will we do?!” they shouted in desperation.

- “Don’t worry. Las night I spoke with the moon, 

and she told me that my sickness could be cured, 

but retrieving the medicine wouldn’t be easy. I have 

decided that one of you will be the chosen one for 

this hard task”

Lenny stuck his paw inside a bag with all of the 

names of the islanders and pulled out a scrunched 

paper with the name of the chosen one.

called out Lenny softly, and the 

island shook nervously

Out of all the animals, the most weak and 

despised had been elected; Richie the rat. He 

was small, insignificant and over all, 

tremendously fearful.

Richie’s heart stopped, he was severely afraid.

- “According to the moon, the quest starts at 

the river. There you’ll find the first clue on a 

special stone. You must start now, otherwise I 

wont make it, go!” said Lenny.

Lenny gulped, breathed deeply and hurried 

away in the search of the medicine. First stop 

river, he thought. 

His unsteady feet scurried across the green leaves, white 

sand and moist soil until he reached the rumbling river. 

Richie was so afraid, he thought his heart was going to 

jump out of his chest. He stepped at the edge and 

splashed into the river. 

Richie felt his poor body sinking into the bottom of the 

river, as the rowdy waters struck him violently. He couldn’t 

manage to get out and was fading away when a hard rock 

hit his head, he stroked it and realised it had very special 

encryptions. It was the encrypted stone! He swam 

desperately to the surface, and finally recovered his 

breath. He dragged his exhausted body out of the river and 

focused on the stone. It had a map on it!
