Once upon a time, a young boy named Keloglan lives with his poor mother in a very old hut in a beautiful Cıty of Turkey called Cappadocia. Keloğlan loves weaving rugs with his mother and they try to make a living by selling the rugs they wove.
One day his mother says to the keloğlan :
-Here, my son, cash the gold inherited from your father and bring a repairman so that we can rebuild this house before it collapses on our heads.
Keloglan takes the gold coins, drinks his mother's tarhana soup early in the morning before setting
Before setting
out, his mother gives him an evil eye bead to protect him from evil, and Keloglan sets off.
While he is on the road, he sees children playing the game of "I will sell oil and I will sell honey". He smiles them and continues on his way.
After walking a little way, he feels hungry and sits under a tree to eat the food that his mother prepared. His mother makes muffin for lunch. At that moment, a man wearing a shalwar and a cap approaches him and says, "I'm very hungry, can you give me a bite of bread?" Keloğlan says, "Of course, uncle, here you go" and they eat their fill together. Suddenly, theman takes out his saz because he is a poet. "Tell me, Keloğlan, what should I play for you?" Keloğlan asks for Folk Song, they sing it together and Keloğlan kisses the old uncle's hand and sets off again.
While walking on the road, he sees a group of people beating a cat. He immediately steps in and says:
— Take this gold and stop beating it.
He gives them the gold and saves the cat, continues on his way with it.
. After walking for a while, he sees another group of three or five people hitting a dog with sticks. Once again, he runs and says:
— Stop, what are you doing? Take this gold and leave the poor animal alone."
Thus, he saves the dog and continues on his way, accompanied by both the dog and the cat. Just as he approaches the city, he encounters a crowd again. This time, lumberjacks cut down an oak and try to kill the big snake that is leaking out of it. Again, Keloğlan can't stand it and says:
-Take a piece of gold and release that snake, he says.
In this way, he also saves the snake. Snake to Keloğlan:
“Hey! Humankind. I am the son of the sultan. I had a fight with my father so he turned me into a snake and I hid here but they found my place. Let’s go back to my father together.” he says.
Keloğlan and the snake come into the sultan’s presence together.
The snake prince tells his father what happened, the sultan becomes so happy, transformes him into human and decides to reward Keloğlan.
After they have eaten their fill, he addresses Keloglan and says: "Ask me whatever you wish, son of Adam." At this very moment, the sultan's son whispers to Keloglan and tells him to ask for the signet. Keloglan says to the sultan: "I want your signet."
