Far away in distant lands, there lived a beautiful butterfly with magnificent wings. This butterfly loved to travel around and learn new things.
One morning, as she rose into the sky, a strange excitement fluttered in her heart. This wasn’t just an ordinary flight; it was the first step toward a dream that had quietly grown within her. With her vibrant wings, she had already tasted the beauty of countless flowers, but now her heart longed for something more. Her curiosity stretched far beyond the horizon.
“What is life like in the far corners of the world? What do people feel, how do they live, what makes them smile?” she wondered. Different languages, clothing, melodies, foods, and traditions intrigued her—and she couldn’t wait to see them for herself.
It was a dream too big for her tiny heart: to discover the world!
And that morning, she found the courage to take flight. Her journey had begun—a colorful adventure filled with new cultures, fresh friendships, and the magic of the unknown was waiting just ahead.
Flying, flying, the butterfly saw a land shaped like a boot, Italy, and noticed a large island in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea and so fascinated by its beauty she decided to explore it.
There was a splendid city full of temples and Greek ruins: Agrigento. Then she visited Palermo with the Palatine Chapel and the Norman Palace. Syracuse, Ragusa and Taormina and finally Catania at the foot of the majestic Etna volcano.
In this city she noticed many people, sitting at the kiosk, eating a kind of cold dessert, so curious she decided to try it and they told her that it was called granita with brioche, but she also wanted to try the arancini and the cassata and finally the cannoli.
While she was eating she noticed a large statue with an elephant that told her a little about the history of Catania and Acitrezza with its Faraglioni and the myth of Colapesce. Here everyone danced the tarantella and sang.
Fascinated by the beauty of the island and its tear-filled stories, she had to embark on another adventure, certain that she would never forget Sicily.
.
Butterfly flew over the Adriatic Sea and went to the heart of the Balkan Peninsula in an ancient country called Macedonia. It stopped at the Skopje Fortress and looked at the Vardar River. Then it went and landed in Ohrid on the shore of Lake Ohrid. It was sweetened with Ohrid gurabia and ravania. Through the shop windows of Ohrid shops it saw the Ohrid pearl inserted into women's jewelry. He flew over all 365 churches and monasteries in Ohrid and decided to go on his next adventure.
The butterily, curious and delighted by what it saw in Macedonia, set off further and arrived in Romania, a country full of stories, traditions and natural beauty.
It flew over the Carpathian Mountains, looking down on the forests and villages spread out among the hills.
It stopped in the heart of Transylvania, in Sibiu, a city with cobblestone streets, medieval towers and houses, that "look with their curious eyes from the rooftops. It visited the Bridge of Lies and tasted cozonac with walnuts and cinnamon. Then it flew to Maramures, where it was greeted by carved wooden gates and people dressed in traditional costumes. It danced to the rhythm of the hori, admired the wooden churches and enjoyed the hospitality of the locals
The butterfly then arrived in Bucovina, where it visited the painted monasteries of Voronet and Moldovita. He was enchanted by the blue sky painted on the walls and the silence around him.
He also stopped in Tangoviste, the seat of Vlad Tepes. He climbed the Chindia Tower and admired the surroundings. Finally, he descended south and arrived in Bucharest, the capital of Romania. He flew among modern and historical buildings, walked through Herastrau Park and admired the People's House. The day ended watching the sunset on the banks of the Dâmbovita River and already dreaming another
adventure.
with wings like painted jewels, gently drifted across the vast, beautiful world. It danced past sunny pyramids, through lively, colourful markets, and over soft pink cherry trees. Until one day, its delicate journey brought it to the grand, friendly Caucasus Mountains, where it softly fluttered down into the green, welcoming valleys of Georgia. There, it found a world brimming with warmth! It saw joyful feasts called supra, where everyone raised glasses and laughed together, led by a friendly Tamada (toastmaster). The air was filled with the delicious aroma of Georgian cuisine — warm, cheesy khachapuri breads and savoury khinkali dumplings, bursting with flavour.
