Did you know that Pluto was once a planet but now Pluto isn’t? Pluto was a planet from 1930 to 2006. Pluto is located in the Kuiper Belt beyond Neptune. Pluto is known for having 5 moons, water-ice mountains, and its odd orbit. The name Pluto was suggested by an 11-year-old girl, Venetia Burney who chose it after the Roman god of the underworld. That was part of how Pluto was a planet but now isn’t.

Intro to Pluto

Did you know I'm one third water!
That is also what Pluto looks like in the inside.

What makes Pluto different from other planets?
What makes Pluto different from other planets? First of all, Pluto is different from other planets because when Pluto travels around the sun it is in an elliptical orbit. Secondly, Pluto completes a full orbit every 248 Earth years. Lastly, Pluto is a rocky and icy body dwarf planet. Its discovery was in 1930 until 2006. It was once considered the ninth planet in the solar system.

Pluto has five moons and its biggest is Charon; it is so large that people think Pluto and Charon are double-body systems. This is what makes Pluto different from other planets.

Why was Pluto once considered a planet but now not?
Why was Pluto once considered a planet but now Pluto is not? First of all, Pluto used to be the smallest planet but now it's not a planet because behind Neptune there were more icy objects that were Pluto's size so they called Pluto to be a dwarf planet. Secondly, People said Pluto is considered an object of the Kuiper belt. Dwarf plants considered Pluto and other Plutoids are dwarf planets because their orbit takes them farther from the sun than Neptune is.
Lastly, The organization that approves the name of the astronomical objects, defines "planet" so that Pluto was excluded. That is why Pluto was once considered a planet but now Pluto isn’t.

Pluto has cliffs and craters.

What is the history of Pluto's origin and discovery
What is the history of Pluto's origin and discovery? First of all, Pluto was named after the Roman god of the underworld. Secondly, Lowell's calculations could not determine where Pluto's Location was. Also Pluto's name honors Percival Lowell, The initials are the first to letters of Pluto. Lastly, In 1978 The United States Naval Observatory discovered a large satellite Of Pluto and they named it Charon.

In 1988 They detected an Atmosphere around Pluto when Pluto passed in front of a star partly blocking the star's light. When the astronomers used the Hubble Space Telescope they found four other satellites that are smaller than Pluto and Charon. This is a little history about Pluto’s origin and discovery.
