Far beyond the bright planets of our solar system lived a small, chilly world named Pluto. He was tiny, round, and full of curiosity.

Pluto loved watching the bigger planets spin proudly around the Sun. Jupiter showed off his giant storms, Saturn twirled his rings, and Mars glowed red like a spark.

Sometimes Pluto felt left out. “I’m so far away,” he sighed. “No one even notices me.”

Mercury zoomed by first. “Hi Pluto! I’d love to chat, but I’m always rushing around the Sun. No time to stop"

Venus drifted past in her thick clouds. “You’re adorable, Pluto,” she said kindly. “But you’re very, very far from my warm neighborhood.”

Earth waved cheerfully. “Nice to meet you, Pluto! I’ve heard great things about you from my Moon.”

Pluto brightened. “Really? What did your Moon say?”

“That you’re mysterious and full of surprises,” Earth replied.

But then Mars spoke up. “Pluto, you’re cool and all… but you’re not really one of the main planets anymore.”

Pluto’s heart sank. “Not a planet? Then what am I?” 

Mars shrugged. “Ask the scientists. They changed the rules.”

“You’re not alone,” Eris said. “You’re one of us — a dwarf planet! We’re special too.”
