
Once upon a time, there was a little girl in a village, the prettiest that had ever been seen. Her mother was madly in love with her, and her grandmother even more so. This good woman had a little red hood made for her, and it suited her so well that everyone called her Little Red Riding Hood.





One day, her mother, having baked some cakes, said to her:


Go see how your grandmother is doing, as I’ve heard she has been sick; take her a cake and this little pot of butter.
Little Red Riding Hood immediately set off to visit her grandmother, who lived in another village.


As she passed through a forest, she encountered the godfather wolf, who very much wanted to eat her, but he did not dare because some woodcutters were nearby. He asked her where she was going. The poor little girl, who did not know it was dangerous to stop and talk to a wolf, replied:


I’m going to see my grandmother, and I’m bringing her a cake and a little pot of butter that my mother is sending her.

Very well, s, I also want to go see her; I will take this path, and you take that one, and we shall see who arrives first.
Does she live very far?
Oh, yes! said Little Red Riding Hood, beyond the mill that you see over there, in the first little house in the village.

The wolf set off running at full speed down the shorter path, while the girl took the longer one.

getting distracted by picking hazelnuts, chasing butterflies, and making bouquets with the little flowers she found.







It didn’t take long for the wolf to reach the grandmother’s house, and he knocked on the door:
knock knock
Who is it?
I am your granddaughter, Little Red Riding Hood, said the wolf, disguising his voice. I bring you a cake and a little pot of butter that my mother is sending you.

The wolf lifted the latch, and the door opened. He pounced on the good woman and devoured her in an instant, for he had not eaten in more than three days. Then he closed the door and went to lie down in the grandmother’s bed, waiting for Little Red Riding Hood, who arrived a little while later and knocked on the door:
