Absolutism is when a ruler or monarch has complete control over a state or country something very common in Europe at this time.

The Bourgeoisie was the new middle class at that time. They were frequently wealthy merchants and they were found in France.

is for Contstitutionalism

Constitutionalism is when a monarch or ruler has power limited by a constitution and some form of parliament. This allows people to maintain their rights.

is for Divine Right of Kings

The Divine Right of Kings means that kings have been given their right to rule by God, something that James I and Charles I both strongly believed and agreed with.

is for English Civil War

The English Civil War was a controversy involving the balance of power between the English monarch and parliament ultimately resulting in a win for the parliament led by Oliver Cromwell and also the execution of Charles I.

is for Fronde

The Fronde was an uprising of French nobles who believed Louis XIV had too much power.

is for Glorious Revolution

It was the bloodless passing of the throne from James II to William and Mary of Orange, establishing England as a constitutional monarchy.

The period in England without a king took place during the English Civil War. Oliver Cromwell was named lord protector being in charge of England.

James I was the first Stuart monarch of England and he strongly believed in absolutism making parliament unhappy. Also, he was the father of Charles I, and the King James Bible was named after him.

2nd Stuart King of England behind his father James I, was hated by many, especially the parliament, and was executed during the English Civil War. 

is for Louis XIV

Louis XIV known as the Sun King was known for his absolutist government, centralization of power, the large amounts of wars he participated in, and for having the longest reign in European monarch history.

Mercantilism was an economic practice that increased revenue by increasing exports and decreasing imports.

is for New Model Army

The New Model Army was created and led by Oliver Cromwell to fight the Cavaliers or Royalists, they eventually won the English Civil War defeating Charles I resulting in his execution.

is for Oliver Cromwell

Oliver Cromwell led the Roundheads against the Cavaliers during the English Civil War, eventually winning and being named the Lord Protector during the interregnum.

is for Parliment

Consisted of the House of Commons and House of Lords and their job was to advise the monarch and approve taxes, following the English Civil War they gained much more power.
