




BAKLAVA

Ingredients
-1 cup yogurt
-1 cup olive oil
-1 cup milk
-1 egg
- 1 tsp salt
-1 packet baking powder
-Flour (soft dough)
Hazelnuts
Starch
Steps
-Boil syrup, simmer 10 min, cool.
-Mix dough, knead, make balls.
-Roll balls thin with starch.
-Layer 10 sheets, butter each.
-Add nuts, repeat layers.
-Cut, bake at 170°C for 45 min.
-Pour cold syrup on hot baklava.
-Let sit, then enjoy
Syrup
-2 cups sugar
-1 cup water
-½ cup honey or lemon juice
-1 tsp lemon juice





Mămăligă cu brânză și smântână

Ingredients
-2 cup water
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp malai
-200 g cheese
-200g sour cream
Steps
Bring water with 1 teaspoon salt to boil.
Add 1 tablespoon of malai, stir well and bring to a boil.
Then add the rest of the malai, stirring with a whisk until well homogenized.
Allow to simmer over low heat, stirring from time to time so as not to smoke, as the sticky sticks to the sides of the pot, about 20 minutes, then add the butter and stir to distribute evenly.
With a metal spoon moistened in cold water, gently loosen the mamaliga from the sides of the dish, then turn it out onto a wooden





Eggplant salad

-4c eggplant
- 1 tsp salt/pepper
- 2 tsp oil
-lemon
Steps
Ripe, peeled and finely chopped eggplant, tossed with oil, lemon and salt and pepper.

-Flour - egg -black pepper
-water -mince -red pepper
-salt - onion - butter
-tomato paste -mint
Steps
- Prepare a soft dough with flour, egg,water and salt and cut them into small squares after rolling out it
- Cook mince with chopped onion, black and red pepper and salt Put it onto the small dough pieces and close them
- Cook them in hot water
-Prepare a yoghurt mixture with mashed garlic and salt and put it on the boiled mantı
-Prepare a spicy sauce using mint, butter and red pepper if you wish.
- Put it on the yoghurt mixture before you serve

* 2 medium size tomatoes * 3 green pepper
* 1 onion * 3 eggs * 2 gloves garlic
* 1 tbs butter,salt, black pepper,
Steps
Melt the butter.Put chopped onion and garlic into a pan.Cook them until they become soft.Then add the green peppers. Saute the green peppers for 2 minutes. Next, add the tomatoes that you chopped. Put salt, and spices; then mix all the ingredients and cook them.Break the eggs intoa bowl and whisk.Then pour eggs into the cooked mixture.Stir constantly till the eggs cook.

Romanian traditional cheese pies
Poale-n brâu

Poale-n brâu (Moldavian cheese-filled pies)
Ingredients (for about 10 pieces):
For the dough:500g flour,25g fresh yeast or 7g dry yeast,200ml warm milk,2 eggs,100g sugar
80g butter (melted),1 tsp vanilla extract, a pinch of salt
For the filling: 400g cottage cheese ,1 egg,3–4 tbsp sugar, zest of 1 lemon,1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions: Make the dough: Dissolve yeast in warm milk with a little sugar. Let it sit for 10 min. Mix with flour, eggs, remaining sugar, melted butter, vanilla, and salt. Knead until smooth. Let rise for 1 hour.
Prepare filling: Mix cheese, sugar, egg, lemon zest, and vanilla.
Shape: Roll dough into squares. Add a spoonful of filling to the centre. Fold the corners over like an envelope and press gently.
Bake: Place on tray, brush with egg yolk. Bake at 180°C for 30-40 min or until golden.
Optional: Dust with powdered sugar after baking.
