Prologue: A Whisper in the Night
Before the dawn, before the day, before the world knew what to say. A miracle stirred a spark, a light. A heartbeat dancing in the night. Too soon, too small, yet full of joy. A tiny soul in time’s embrace. Though June had called, March took his hand and led him forth a whispered plan. Born on March 25th, 2025, but meant for June. Yet here he came so bright, so soon. At 26 weeks and 2 days, so small and slight. Yet carried forth on love’s great flight. His name was Lucian, which means light and pure. A beacon steady, bright, and sure. With fragile limbs and a constant heart. He took the world and played his part. Though small, though early, though so new. His mighty glow burned strong and true through whispered hope and hands so close. A miracle child is bold and clear.
The Day I Arrived
The clock struck eight-thirty at night, soft yet bold. As March sent whispers through the cold. A pound and nine ounces, and thirteen inches in length. So small, yet wrapped in love from all. June was meant to cradle me. Yet March had whispered, "Come and see!" A playful gust, a secret sound, reflected deep in love profound. Lucian, they called me, light so bright. Born to glow through darkest nights. Tiny hands, a steady beat, a rhythm strong, a song so sweet. My father held me, fierce yet kind, his tears like rivers left behind. A silent vow within his arms, a love so rich, so full, so warm. My mother kissed my nose so lightly; her touch dissolved the fear of night. A promise whispered, soft and true, that no matter what, she’d see me through. Wrapped in blankets, safe and deep, a silent vow they swore to keep. To guide, to cherish, day by day, to help my light find its way.
A Love Steady and True
Before I knew the world so wide, before I learned to stand with pride, before my laughter filled the air, Mom and Dad were always there. Their voices wrapped me, soft and sweet, their gentle hands, my heart’s first beat. They spoke of dreams beyond these walls, of sunlit paths and joyous calls. Mom’s touch like magic, warm and light, turned fear to calm, to love, to bright. She whispered promises, soft and true, that no matter what, she’d see me through. Dad’s hands so strong, so steady, so kind, lifted me up, our hearts entwined. His voice, like thunder yet calm as rain, promised I’d never feel alone again. Each smile they gave, each tear they shed, each kiss upon my tiny head, became my strength, became my cheer, a guiding light, forever there. Through every trial, through every climb, their love endured, and our hearts aligned. A beacon glowing, gold and pure, a bond unbroken, fierce and sure.
A Tiny Home of Beeps and Lights
Inside the NICU, safe and sound, machines and wires all around. A hum, a beep, a soft display, a rhythm guiding me each day. An incubator, a glass cocoon glowed softly like the silver moon. A tiny nest, a gentle space, where love and care filled up the place. Wires woven like a twisting thread, tubes curled softly near my bed. Monitors blinked, and their colors spun, to me, they seemed like endless fun. Though fragile, tiny, new, and small, I felt the warmth surrounding them all. Through glass and wires, through soft embrace, I saw the joy on everyone's face.
The Kindness of Gentle Heroes
Beyond the halls where echoes lay, where healing hands moved night into day. A chorus hummed a loving art, a song of care, a beating heart. Nurse Lila hummed a joyful tune, her voice like silver stars and moon. She tickled my toes, she twirled with glee, her kindness wrapped and carried me. Then Doctor Ray, with wisdom keen, arrived with hands so soft, so serene. His steady gaze, his caring eyes, held stories deep as endless skies. Through every test, through every care, their love and hope were always there. Within these halls, a magic stayed, a miracle within was laid.
