What is that?

Montag is a fireman in a world where books are banned and burned. He would burn books everyday thinking it was for good. At first, he blindly follows the rules, believing that destroying books keeps people happy and safe. But over time, he begins to question the world around him and realizes that knowledge and thinking freely are important to being truly alive. His rebellion against the system puts him in danger and forces him to run away from his city, unsure of how to create real change. But after this he found a mysterious portal that started to suck him in.
Exposition

Ralph is one of a group of British boys stuck on a deserted island without adults. He is elected leader and tries to create order and build a society based on rules but he does this by being controlling of everyone. But as fear and savagery grow among the boys, Ralph loses control. Violence and chaos overtake the island, and Ralph is hunted by the very boys he tried to lead. He survives, but is scared by the darkness he saw in human nature. As Ralph is trying to plan something to gain back control, a portal pops up right in front of him and sucks him inside.

Brutus is a Roman senator and a close friend of Julius Caesar. He joins a group of conspirators who kill Caesar, believing that Caesar's rise to power threatens the Roman Republic. Though he acts for what he believes is the greater good, Brutus is torn by guilt and regret. His decision leads to civil war and his own sad downfall, leaving him questioning whether he truly did the right thing. But while Brutus was going to a meeting with the conspirators he finds a portal that sucks him in.
Exposition

Montag, Brutus, and Ralph find themselves mysteriously being transported by a portal. But right before they were trapped in this portal they were in a moment of crisis in their own stories.
Conflict Introduced

When they fell through the portal they found themselves in a mystical grassland. Lost and confused they decided to look around to find out where they have gone.
Conflict Introduced

When they went to look around they went deeper into the forest they were took to by the portal. Lost and confused, they meet a wise guide who explains to them that they each must learn a lesson from different religions to solve a problem from their original worlds to go back to their own story.
Conflict Introduced

The wise guide explains to them what each of their problems are. The wise man says "Montag fears that balance makes him weak, Brutus feels forgiveness will make him dishonorable, and Ralph worries about letting things happen will cause more chaos."
Conflict introduced

Montag went to a temple where a orange-robed monk meditated. He went next to the monk and asked, “How do you live in a world of silence and fire?” The monk smiled. “We follow the Middle Way not in extremes, but in balance(Soka Gakkai). Not blind obedience. Not violent rebellion. Peace walks between.” Montag watched how they lived not rejecting the world, but not clinging to it. He thought of his city, of burning books and burned people. “What if I walked the path between?” he wondered.

Its okay, I forgive you.

Brutus traveled to a quiet village. He saw a woman forgive a man who stole from her family. “Why?” he asked. “Justice demands punishment.” “Justice alone is not enough,” she said gently. “I follow Christianity where forgiveness is where healing begins. Even you, warrior, can be made whole” (Stefon). Brutus remembered Caesar’s shocked eyes. Could he be forgiven? Could he forgive himself? He knelt for the first time not as a Roman, but as a man seeking grace.
