Exposition
The boys are stranded on an abandoned island because of a plane crash. The island wasn't too small but big enough for everyone to live together. It had fruit trees, pigs, wood, and even water. Ralph in the black shirt, Jack in the red shirt, Piggy in the green shirt, and other green and red boys meet together to discuss their roles on the island. Ralph was chosen to be the leader and everything was going smoothly. A cabin was created, a campfire was made, and they killed their first pig.

Conflict
However, Jack decided to stand out and complain that Ralph is not prioritizing the right things. Ralph, Piggy, and the Green Boys wanted to build houses and campfire. Jack and the Red Boys wanted to go hunt pigs for food. The group breaks into half because Ralph's side builds shelter while Jack's side hunts. Ralph doesn't know what to do, and he walks off to take a break from this mess.

Rising Action
As Ralph takes a break on the beach, he suddenly finds a book washed by the shore. He reads the title, 'The 3 Concepts of Peace and Unity.' He decides to read the first chapter about a concept from Buddhism. It teaches Ralph about Metta, a selfless, unconditional love towards all beings ("What Is"). He thinks that this should apply to the group because we should always love each other instead of going against each other.

Rising Action
Next, Ralph reads onto the next chapter about Christianity. He learns about bearing one another's burdens as the book teaches him that trust only grows when people feel safe to share their struggles ("Bearing One"). He reads the phrase, "Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ" and this helps him further understand the concept of burdens ("What Does"). He understands how this can help their problem because only when Ralph's and Jack's side share burdens and compromise, they can trust each other and feel safe on the island.

Rising Action
Ralph then reads onto the next chapter about Taoism. He learns about Te, a virtue or inner power where those who possess it are trustworthy, authentic, and live their life virtuously without falling into their desires ("Discover What"). Ralph sees how this could be applied into their problem because by harnessing Te, Ralph's and Jack's groups are able to trust each other and survive without falling into madness.

Climax
Ralph decides to call a meeting together with a horn so that Jack's group and Ralph's group to attend the important meeting. However, Jack's group starts to fight for the glasses that Piggy has so that they can make fire with it. Ralph was super surprised that Jack was brave enough to fight for the fire and even start an all out war. The boys start to fight and hurt each other while Ralph kept trying to think of a solution for this problem.
