Chapter 1:The excitement of a          school trip

In the village of Anata, nestled between rolling hills, lived a joyful 5-year-old boy named Milad. His father, Abed Salama, had always cherished the simple moments with his son—watching the sunrise over the olive groves, sharing stories at bedtime, and feeling the warmth of their close-knit community.

One crisp morning in February, Milad was bubbling with excitement. His school had planned a special trip to a theme park just outside Jerusalem. He packed his little backpack with snacks and a small toy car, kissed his mother goodbye, and waved enthusiastically as he boarded the bus with his friends.

Abed watched from the doorway, his heart swelling with pride. "Have fun, my son," he called out, unaware that this would be the last time he would see Milad before the tragedy unfolded.

Later that day, Abed received a phone call that would change his life forever. "Did Milad go on the outing today?" his nephew asked urgently. "There was an accident with a school bus near Jaba."

Panic surged through Abed's chest. He rushed to the scene, only to find chaos. The bus had collided with a lorry, and the road was filled with emergency responders and onlookers. The bus was overturned and burned, but there were no children in sight.

Frantic, Abed learned that the children had been taken to various hospitals across Jerusalem and the West Bank. Some were missing; others could not be identified. He set off on a desperate journey to find Milad, navigating a maze of physical, emotional, and bureaucratic obstacles.
