Pierogi - a typical Polisf dish.
They are loved by not only Polish people
but also by tourists. They can be with meat, mushrooms and cabbage but also with some
fruit like blackberries, strawberries or with white cheese and potatoes. They are very delicious.
Pork chop with potatoes
This main dish is served in every Polish home
every Sunday usually with sliced cucumbers
and cream.
Polish peolpe also love potato pankaces.

Polish dessers are known for their flavours,
traditional recipes and use of natural

Apple pie is a pie filled by sweet
spiced apple pieces served with vanilla
ice cream.
Cheese cake is made of white cottage cheese, often baked andserved plain or with raisins, chocolate or fruit glaze.
Poppy seed cake is a cake filled by poppy seed paste, honey and raisins.
Traditional Lithuanian dishes
Cepelinai
Made from grated potatoes and a filling, usually meat. They are named for their shape – reminiscent of zeppelins (airships). Cooked zeppelins are usually served with crackers, sour cream or mushroom sauce. It is a hearty and beloved national dish.
Šaltibarščiai
This is a refreshing, bright pink cold soup, usually eaten in the summer.


Balandėliai
It is made from a filling of minced meat (usually pork or beef) and cooked rice, which is wrapped in cabbage leaves. They are stewed in a pan or pot with tomato sauce, sometimes seasoned with carrots, onions, garlic, sour cream, or spices.
Tinginys
it is a sweet, chocolate dessert, usually made without baking. The name comes from its simple and quick preparation - you can make it "when you're lazy"

Christmas in the Czech Republic
About week before 24th December we decorate a christmas tree.
On 24th December we eat Schnitzel with potatos or carp. And ours moms are baking gingerbread and more sweets.
Polish Easter Traditions
Easter Eggs paint
In Poland we paint eggs at Easter. They look
so wonderful with colourful stripes and spots.
It's a great fun for Polish children and families.
Blessing of food
On Easter Saturday Polish families take baskets with food such as eggs, a sugar lamb, bread,
meat, salt and pepper and go to
the church for blessing.

Polish Christmas traditions
- We always have 12 dishes on Christmas table and these meals are without meat.
- We also decorate the Christmas tree with baubles, bells and angels. We should do it on Christmas Eve but now many families decorated trees earlier.
- Before Christmas Eve dinner, we wait for the first star to appear at the sky. Then we share holly waffer and make wishes to each other.
- We also leave an empty plate on the table for a guest who might appear unexpectedly.
- In Poland Santa Clause brings present to good children on 6th December.

Midsummer is a Christian holiday, the birthday of John the Baptist, celebrated on June 24. The celebration of Midsummer is closely related to the summer solstice, when the Northern Hemisphere has the longest day and shortest night.
One of the most important and widespread Midsummer traditions in European countries is the lighting of bonfires, usually on the night of the 23rd to the 24th.


All Souls' - the Commemoration of All Souls' Day - is a day of remembrance and honoring the dead, celebrated on November 2. Traditionally, the graves of the dead are visited and candles are lit.

is one of Poland's oldest trees. It is about 700-1000 years old. It's over 28 metres
high and has over 9 metres
around. It is situated in
Zagnańsk near Strachowice,
in the Świętokrzyskie Mountains.

Masurian is a geographical and
cultural region in northeaster
Poland where there are lots of
lakes and forests.
It is a populat tourist destination for lovers of water sports, sailing and active recreaction.


The largest lake is called Śniadrwy, the second one - Mamry. Other lakes are also beautiful.

Szczeliniec Wielki and Table Mountains
Szczeliniec Wielki is the highest peak of the Table Mountains in the Table Mountains National Park. These mountains resemble giant mushrooms with narrow stone corridors that looks like naural labyrinths.

The moving sand dunes is called Poland's Sahara and it's located in the Słowiński National Park, about 9 km from the town - Łeba. Sand is everywhere but it looks insane.
Krkonoše mountains (KRNAP)

- Interesting places:
Sněžka (the highest mountain - 1603 m)
Pramen Labe - the beginning of one of the most important European rivers
We share it with Poland - part of this national park is in Poland.
Šumava - the national park in the Czech Republic – founded in 1991
Area : 69 030
Interesting places:
The highest mountain in the Czech part of Šumava is Plechý (1 378 m).
Icy lakes – for example, Black lake, the largest of its kind in the Czech Republic (18.4 ha)
Pramen Vltavy – the river begins its flow in the Šumava Mountains
Boubín forest – a unique reserve with some trees up to 400 years old
Romantic valley of the river Vydry full of ravines, rapids and rocky seas

River Dyje- forms a beautiful meandering valley, one of the best preserved in the Czech Republic
