Alex, who was preparing a school project on digital citizenship, came across an online fake news that caused a lot of confusion in the classroom. At first, everyone believed it was true. Some classmates even went so far as to share it on social media. However, when their teachers questioned the reliability of the source, the situation suddenly became unexpected.

For the first time, Alex truly grasped the weight of the responsibility of sharing information in the digital world. Just then, an unexpected voice from the classroom interrupted to tell a similar personal experience.
Maya told how she re-shared a viral video that later turned out to be misleading. He talked about the embarrassment he felt and how this taught him that he should always double-check the facts before sharing something online.

Their teachers nodded thoughtfully, turning this moment into an effective discussion about digital responsibility.

Together, the class created a checklist to verify sources and detect fake news. They brainstormed questions they should ask themselves before relying on the information or sharing it:

Who created this content and can I trust them?
Is the source reliable and well-known?
Are there any typos or strange formatting?
Does the story appear on more than one trusted news site?
Is the title trying to evoke strong emotions?
Can I confirm the information using a verification site?
While working,

Students began to realize how easy it was to fall for titles designed to shock or scare. A student shared an example of a viral story they believed in, but later discovered that it was completely fabricated. Another talked about how a misleading post caused confusion in family group conversations.

Their teacher praised them for their critical thinking and reminded them that in a world full of knowledge, being a responsible reader is more important than ever.

The classroom turned checklists into a poster to raise awareness at school. Alex and Maya began designing, while others suggested creating a short video or interviewing students about fake news.
His teacher said with a smile, "This is just the beginning..."
Excited by the encouragement of their teachers, the students were divided into groups to bring their ideas to life. Alex and Maya worked on the poster, carefully designed it with bold colors and simple, clear tips that anyone could follow. For each question, they added icons such as a magnifying glass for "Check the source" and a warning sign for "Emotional titles".
Meanwhile, another group started scripting the video. They planned to revive scenes showing how fake news spread and how it could be stopped with just a few minutes of critical thinking. One student offered to edit the video using an app on his tablet, while another offered interviewing a local journalist to get the advice of a real expert.
As the classroom was overflowing with energy, their teachers wandered around and offered guidance and encouragement. "Remember," he said, "it's not just about protecting yourself, it's about helping others think carefully as well."
In the later days of that week,
He presented his class projects at a school meeting. The poster was hung at the entrance of the school and the video was shown to all students. Many were surprised at how easily they could be misled, but now they felt empowered by the tools they had.
