Chapter One
One sunny summer morning, Jane Dawson was biking up and down her street, when she saw an odd looking Chipmunk. "Well that's funny". She said. "I've never seen Chipmunks in Nebraska, especially on Daniels Street, hmm. Well, chipmunks aren't that rare, but again they aren't
that common either, but this one was in between. "Wow, chunky, hmm, I'll call you...Chunk! That's what
I'll call you!". "Yes, yes, yes!". She jumped up and down, but scared Chunk away. "Aw, you were fun to have around", She said. "But, I guess I'll see you next time. Bye!". Chunk seemed to answer to her, for at the very moment, he turned his head around, and nodded.
Chapter Two
Right when Jane awoke the next morning, she flung the covers off of her, and ran outside to see Chunk. "Put your boots on!" Jane turned around, that was her mother: Lisa Dawson, and just for your information, Jane's dad was: John Dawson. "Okay!". Jane searched for her boots, but they weren't where she usually put them, she checked in her bedroom, nope, then she remembered,
yesterday, she had been swimming, and took them off right when her feet were off the ground splashing into water. Jane rushed to the lanai. "Yes, found them!". She called. She quickly slipped them on then went to see Chunk.
Chapter Three
Jane's eyes dropped to the ground when she couldn't find Chunk. "Aw". She tilted her head. "Where are you? Chunk?" Crack, twist, nibble. "Jane perked up, Chunk?" She asked in a smiling way. "Chunk, you there?" "Chunk?!" Jane dashed to the bushes with a worried expression. "Where are you?! Chunk!?" Then she saw a brown figure bolted in between Jane's legs.

"Chunk?" She asked. She turned around and saw a chipmunk that looked like Chunk, and was Chunk. "Chunk!" She laughed. "I knew you would come"!. Chunk sprang
towards Jane.
She laughed
again. Chunk
looked up at her
with wide eyes
panting fast.
"Have you been
eating?" Asked Jane. Chunk had berries in his fat mouth. "Well, what have you been eating?" Chunk spit the berries out for Jane to examine them, then gobbled them up again. "Ew!" Said Jane flabbergasted. "Why would you eat something that just came off the dirt ground?" Then she laughed. "You're funny, I'll aske mom if I can keep you as a pet." Jane turned around and scooped up Chunk, then hurried inside.
Chapter Four
"Mom?" Jane yelled. "Yes honey"? She answered. "I found a cute little chipmunk yesterday and named him Chunk, will you let me keep him?" Jane asked. "Well, only if you will take good care of him." "I will." Answered Jane with a smile creeping up on her. "Alright then, go have fun!" Jane ran off into the wild trees, and put Chunk down. "Alright little buddy, time for a run." Jane ran and pushed away
