In the Light’s Path – Part I: Asena’s Dream
In the Light’s Path – Part II: In Pursuit of the Light

After a long and weary day, Asena closed her eyes and drifted into sleep. When she opened them again, she found herself standing in a mysterious forest veiled in gentle mist. The air carried the scent of wildflowers, and a soft melody echoed from the distance, enchanting her senses. Above her, the moon shone bright, and the stars danced across the sky in a celestial rhythm.
From the mist, a figure emerged. He had long black hair and wore a robe adorned with ancient Turkish patterns. His eyes held the depth of centuries.
“I am Dede Korkut,” he said, his voice deep and timeless. “The storyteller of Turkish legends. I have come to show you the tales of our heroes.”

Before Asena could respond, Dede Korkut waved his hand, and the world shifted. They now stood in the vast Central Asian steppe, where the wind rolled across the grasslands and the distant sound of galloping horses echoed in the air.
“This is the land of the Grey Wolf,” he said. “These epic stories speak of courage, friendship, and justice. The sons of Oghuz Khan fought to protect this sacred land.”
Suddenly, the sky darkened, and a giant silhouette of a wolf appeared on the horizon.
“Behold, Asena—the sacred guardian of our people,” Dede Korkut said.
Asena held her breath. Something ancient stirred within her.

“Are you ready?” asked Dede Korkut. “I will now take you to another world.”
With a whisper, the landscape spun again. When the mist cleared, they stood by the banks of the Danube River in the heart of Romania. A young woman with long, flowing black hair stood before them, her gaze calm yet powerful.
“I am Ana Drăgan, a hero from Romanian legend,” she said. “In our stories, nature and humanity are bound together. Here, by this river, lives the tale of a hero who stood against evil to protect her people.”

As she spoke, a massive snake figure emerged from the mist above the river.
“This serpent symbolizes the darkness we face,” Ana continued. “But the courage within us is greater.”
Suddenly, shadowy creatures lunged from the fog. Asena instinctively drew a sword that shimmered into her hand, as though summoned by her very spirit. A blue light radiated from the blade, and the creatures recoiled.
Dede Korkut and Ana stood beside her.
“You are not merely a listener, Asena,” Dede Korkut said. “You carry the power of these legends. And now, it is your turn to drive back the darkness.”
Asena raised her sword, voice strong and sure:
“I am ready.”
As soon as the words left her lips, the sky shifted again. Stars rearranged themselves, and the earth trembled as time itself unraveled.
Dede Korkut placed a hand on her shoulder.
“Now I shall guide you through the depths of time. You will meet the heroes of the Oghuz lineage. To understand them is to understand yourself.”
In an instant, she found herself in the heart of a great nomadic encampment on the Central Asian steppe. Felt tents dotted the land, the sounds of drums and bows filled the air, and horses galloped freely.

The first to greet her was a tall, broad-shouldered warrior clad in leather armor, a sword at his side, pride in his stance.
“I am Bamsı Beyrek,” he said. “I fought for love and for friendship. Though I spent years apart from my beloved, I never lost hope.”
Asena gazed into his eyes, seeing both pain and strength etched deep within.
“Was it love that made you strong?” she asked.
Bamsı Beyrek smiled.
