For every child in the world
May these poems help you understand your rights,
To be heard, to play, to learn, to shine.
You are never too small to matter,
You are never too small to be heard.
Introduction

A child so innocent and sweet
Can be on every street
Five, nine, fifteen
Every child is under eighteen
Whether boy or girl near or far,
You have rights just as you are.
No matter white or black, your language or your land
These rights are yours, so take a stand!
The right to learn and play every day,
The right to be safe every way.
The right to talk and tell your voice,
To love and choose your choice. (UNICEF UK, 2024)Article 1
I am a Child

Every child has the right to privacy
Protection is key for children like you
Right to have your own thoughts and feelings in your heart
Voice to your family, friends & teacher who trust and care for you
Always will listen right up to the end
Caring for you and keeping safe and secure
Your very own world, a beautiful space!
(UNICEF UK, 2024) Article 16

I can express myself
If you're feeling happy, mad or sad,
Your feelings count YES; they do!
You can draw or sing a song,
Or tell a story all day long.
You can ask and learn and read,
Find out all the facts you need.
Books and pictures, songs and plays,

Help you learn in many ways.
But if you talk too much, don't let anyone say,
"Be quiet! Don't say a word! Sit there and stay!"
Never feel you must be quiet,
No one can take your voice away.
Just use kind words, be fair and true,
And let others say their things too.(UNICEF UK, 2024) (Article 13)

It is clear and right
Children should free safe from morning and till night
May children have strong roof above
So, every child can feel love
No pain, no hurt, no terror
There should be no room for error.
Let adults listen, help, and care,
So, peace and joy can reign everywhere.
(UNICEF UK, 2024) Article 19
Safe

Child Labour
Safe and Sound
No jobs are for the small,
Like lifting or working in malls.
The rules must be clear,
To keep children near
Children should be protected everywhere.
(UNICEF UK, 2024) Article 32

Every Child is Gifted
Some children are gifted
Some children have unique ways to move
While others have distinctive vision
Every child can learn in their own way
Some children interact with their hands,
and that's ok !
Some children speed round on wheels
And some have guide to help them along the day

Every child should have a chance to play,
to laugh, to sing, to dream their days.
No matter how their legs may move,
or how their hands may make the world.
Let's celebrate each child differences
And come together as one.
(UNICEF UK, 2024)Article 23

Education is Key
Busting through the school gates
Away they go
Every child has a right to be include that's how it should go
As they find their classrooms through their minds they grow
Learning, laughing, asking things they want to know.
Education should be free for child!
Let it show!
Maths, Science
Health, Art and PE
Each lesson makes their future bright
There is so much they can do

Education should be free for child!
Teacher's touch is gentle
Making everyone mingle
Rules, respect is a must
Part of each classroom’s recipe.
Education should be free for child!
From the playground to the classroom
Every girl and boy
Has the right to learn new things
And fill their hearts with joy
No one can destroy
Education should be free for child! (UNICEF UK, 2024) Article 28
