What is Electrical Charge?
An electrical charge happens when two materials come in contact or are rubbed together.
Sally rubbed the balloon on her hair which is an electrical charge and it made her hair stand up.

What is Electrical Current?
Electrical Current is the flow of electricity.
Jack turned on the light switch which started an electrical current which started the flow from the power source to the light bulb which makes it light up.

What is Electrical Circuit?
An Electrical Circuit is a path for the flow of electricity.
Rose put a light bulb into her new lamp, she took the plug from the lamp which is her Electrical Circuit and plugged it into the outlet which is a power source. When she plugged it in the electricity ran through the wires of her plug, her electrical circuit. Her lamp turned on and her light bulb lit up.

What are Conductors of Electricity?
Conductors of electricity are materials that allow electricity to flow through easy.
Good conductors of electricity are things like iron, copper, steal, and aluminum.

What is an Insulator?
An insulator is a material that doesn’t allow heat, light, Sound, or electricity to pass through it easily.
Good insulators are things like rubber, plastic, and wood.

What is an incomplete circuit?
An incomplete circuit is an electrical circuit where the path for current flow is broken or interrupted.
Sarah opened her new alarm clock and turned it on, she wondered why it wasn’t working. The clock wasn’t working because She hadn’t plugged it into the wall, making an incomplete circuit. Once she plugged it into the outlet, it started to work.

What is a complete circuit?
A complete circuit is a loop or track that allows electricity to flow from a power source to a device and back again to make the device work.
Max got a new flashlight and to make it a complete circuit he had to put batteries in it.

What are a series and parallel circuits?
A Series circuit is like a single lane road for electricity. A parallel circuit is like a road with multiple lanes.
If you have two things plugged into an outlet, they are both going to turn off if you turn the lights off because there is only one path which is a series circuit.
AJ’s dad plugged in the Christmas lights which is a string of lightbulbs. One of the lightbulbs blew out but the remaining lightbulbs work, which is what happens when using a parallel circuit.

What is a electrical insulator?
An electrical insulator is a material that electricity can’t easily flow through.
Good electrical insulators are rubber, plastic, wood, and glass.

What is a battery?
A battery is a little container that stores energy so things can work.
Alyssa got a new mirror that lights up and to make it work. She needed to put batteries in it.
