U Monster and the Umbrella

It was a sunny morning in Malibu, and Barbie Roberts was organizing her art supplies for a big outdoor painting session. She was just about to start when her youngest sister, Chelsea, came running into the backyard.
“Barbie! There’s a monster in the front yard!” Chelsea shouted, wide-eyed—but she didn’t sound scared. In fact, she was grinning.
Before Barbie could reply, a friendly voice called,
“Unbelievable! Unimaginable! U Monster is here!”
Out from behind the fence bounced U Monster, smiling from ear to ear (well, if he had ears). His green body gleamed in the sunshine, and his pink tuft of hair bobbed with every step.
Skipper peeked out from the house, holding her tablet. “Wow… a living letter? This is so going online.”
U Monster introduced himself with a dramatic bow. “I am U Monster, and I only do things that start with U! I unwrap surprises, use unusual tools, understand unusual problems, and… today, I’m here to undertake an urgent umbrella mission!”
Stacie raised an eyebrow. “Umbrella? But it’s sunny.”
“Ah-ha!” U Monster wagged a green finger. “That’s what makes it unusual!”
The Mission
U Monster explained that a huge, magical umbrella had blown away from his home in Alphabet Valley. This wasn’t just any umbrella—it could unfold into the size of a circus tent, change colors, and even make music when it rained. Unfortunately, without it, the letter U’s local Umbrella Festival couldn’t happen.
Barbie, always up for an adventure, said, “Well, if it’s in Malibu, we’ll help you find it!”
The whole Roberts family joined in:
Barbie packed snacks and a first-aid kit. Skipper loaded a GPS tracking app on her tablet. Stacie brought her skateboard—“just in case we have to chase something fast.” Chelsea grabbed her glittery notebook to document the journey. George and Margaret said they’d keep watch at home in case the umbrella floated back. Ken Carson arrived just in time with his convertible. “Room for one more? I’ve got unlimited trunk space!”
