High Mileage Math
As I drive my car to the store to pick up things for dinner, my dashboard is calculating my speed, distance, fuel left, as well as my average miles per gallon. I love how helpful my car is, because otherwise I would have a lot of speeding tickets and run out of gas more often!

Grocery BEEP Checkout
My car took me to the store, I did my shopping, and now it's time for checkout! The machine scans the barcode, reads the price, and then adds up all my items to give me a total that is too expensive!

The Clean Pour
The most dreadful part of my week is doing the laundry. I use this plastic cup to measure out how much detergent I need in the washer, depending on the size of the clothes. I have a tendency to add more than the load needs, because I would rather have too much than not fully clean clothes.

Ecstatic Energy
Sometimes you just need a pick-me-up. This vending machine with energy drinks is just the right pick-me-up. The machine uses both math and technology together, reading my card, taking the money off, then reading the code of buttons I put in to grab the drink and bring it to me!

STEM - Steps. Taken. Every. Mile.
The gym is such a cool place to look at STEM, but specifically the treadmill. The usage of engineering with the motors and belts, math with speed, time, and color trackers, science with the motion of energy to make you feel like you are on still ground running, and technology to put it all together. Really makes you want to go running on a treadmill ;)

The Noise Outside My Window
The construction quite literally outside my window, which never fails to interrupt my peaceful mornings, is STEM, no doubt. The designing, building, measuring, calculating, and materials are a part of everyday life for this construction site.

The Science Of SPIRIT
While at practice, I realized that cheer could also be considered STEM! We use lots of math with counting, steps for spacing, precise angles for our motions, balance, and strength in our stunts! GO STEM!!

Ink and Engineering
This modern-day necessity is a technology that has made not only my life, but everyone's, much more efficient. Turning digital information into paper copies using roller and ink systems, the high-tech features it has with Bluetooth connection, as well as its software and hardware, and the precise math it takes to do exact spacing, alignment, and color combinations. What a great example of STEM!
