Locked and loaded!

This lock is at the SRWC and keeps lockers and rooms secure. Inside are small metal pins that line up only with the correct key. This shows engineering. It shows how designed parts work together to control the opening and closing of the lock.
Vend it like it's Hot!
I use this vending machine in Morgan Hall often. It gives drinks after you pay. It uses sensors and motors to detect payment and drop the item. This shows technology and engineering working together. It uses inputs and movement to complete a task.

Chill Zone
This refrigerator in the kitchen keeps food cold, so it stays fresh. It moves heat from inside the fridge to the outside air. Cold air is kept inside while heat is pushed out. This is using science and engineering. It shows how temperature control systems keep food safe.

Endless Pastabilities
This pasta at Olive Garden is cooked in boiling water until soft. Heat changes the starch structure to create the texture we eat. This shows chemistry (science) in cooking food. The cooking process changes the food's texture through heat.

Knead to Relax
This is a massage chair at the SRWC that students (me!) can use to relax their muscles. The chair has moving rollers that travel along the back and press in different areas. It is designed to copy the motion of a real massage using built-in movement. It shows technology through a powered movement system and engineering in how the chair is built to match the body shape and motion.

Glow and Behold
This is blush and highlighter makeup from Ulta that I use when getting ready. The products use pigments and tiny reflective particles to add color and shine to the skin. They are made to spread smoothly and stay in place on the face. This shows science in how pigments and shimmer create a color and glow. It's also engineering in how the formula is made to apply evenly and last.

Watt's Up
This is my everyday computer charger from my bedroom. It changes electricity from the wall into a safe power for my laptop. It controls voltage so the battery charges correctly. This shows Technology and engineering. The charger controls the flow of power to protect the device.

Press to Impress
My espresso machine in my kitchen. It pushes hot water through coffee grounds to make a drink. The pressure extracts flavor quickly from the grounds. It's forced through tightly packed coffee. This shows engineering and science. It's showing how pressure moves liquid through material.
