Pierogi are a traditional Polish dish. They're similar to Italian ravioli: a crescent-shaped pasta filled with a filling. The fillings can be savory, such as potatoes and cheese, meat, or cabbage with mushrooms, or sweet, with fruit like blueberries or cherries.They're usually cooked in boiling water and then sautéed in a pan with onion and butter. Pierogi are very popular in Poland and are often prepared during the holidays, especially Christmas.
