This book is dedicated to all the dreamers who believe in kindness, fairness, and peace. May Dr. King’s dream inspire you to make the world a better place every day.

Have you ever dreamed of a world where everyone is treated fairly?
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. had that dream. He was a leader who wanted peace, fairness, and love for all people. In this book, you’ll learn about his life and why he is remembered today.
Martin Luther King Jr. was born in 1929 in Atlanta, Georgia. As a boy, Martin loved reading and learning. But he noticed something very wrong: children with light skin could go to certain schools and parks, but children with dark skin could not. This was called segregation, and Martin knew it was unfair.

Martin grew up to become a pastor. He believed that God wanted people to love one another. Instead of fighting with fists, Martin used words, marches, and peaceful protests to stand up for what was right.

In 1963, Martin gave his most famous speech at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C. He said, “I have a dream that one day children will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.”
Thousands of people listened and cheered. His words gave hope to millions.

Because of Martin’s leadership, laws in the United States began to change. Segregation slowly ended, and people of all races gained more equal rights. Martin showed that peaceful action could change the world.

In 1964, Martin Luther King Jr. won the Nobel Peace Prize, the world’s highest award for peace. He was only 35 years old, making him one of the youngest people ever to receive it. Martin accepted the prize not for himself, but for all the people who worked for freedom and equality.
Even after the laws began to change, Martin kept working to help others. He spoke out for people who were poor and for workers who wanted fair pay. Martin traveled across the country, giving speeches of hope and courage. He never stopped believing that love was stronger than hate.
Dr. King died in 1968, but his dream still lives on. Today, every January, we celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day to remember his courage and kindness.
