Hi! I’m The Flash! We are inside my body with helpers that make me run fast. Meet Sparky the Neuron and Milo the Muscle Fiber!, my super speed team inside!

I'm Sparky!
and I'm Milo!
Down in my muscles, Milo is calm and ready. He’s made of thin strings called myofibrils, and each one has tiny parts called sarcomeres that make movement happen. He’s waiting for the signal that says, “It’s time to run!”

Up in the brain, Flash decides it’s go time! His brain shouts, “Run!” Sparky the Neuron lights up and sends an action potential - an electric signal, toward Milo. The Flash crouches at the starting line, ready to sprint!

Run!
The message races down Sparky’s long tail, called the axon. Tiny vesicles at the end wait to deliver the signal to Milo. The race inside Flash’s body has begun!

Sparky reaches the neuromuscular junction, where the neuron meets Milo’s muscle fiber. Milo senses something big is coming!

Sparky’s vesicles open and release acetylcholine (ACh) into the synaptic cleft, the tiny space between neuron and muscle. The message jumps the gap and races toward Milo!

...
...
...

ACh lands on Milo’s motor end plate. Sodium (Na⁺) rushes in and potassium (K⁺) rushes out, this is depolarization! Milo lights up with energy!

Depolarization!
The electric wave races along Milo’s sarcolemma and dives into tunnels called T-tubules deep inside the muscle. The signal is getting closer to the power center!

The signal reaches Milo’s sarcoplasmic reticulum, his calcium vault. Cal the Calcium Spark bursts out through voltage sensitive calcium channels, ready to unlock movement!

Cal the Calcium Spark meets Trooper Troponin, the brave guard on the actin ropes. Trooper Troponin moves Tropomyosin the Rope aside, uncovering the binding sites on actin. Now Milo can move!

Here comes Captain Myosin, the strong worker! He grabs the actin ropes tightly. That grab is called a cross-bridge.

ATP the Power Cell zooms in and gives Captain Myosin the energy to pull! This pull is called the power stroke. Milo’s sarcomeres shorten as actin slides toward the center!

Millions of sarcomeres shorten at once, Milo contracts with full power! Outside, The Flash blasts off the starting line and speeds down the track. The inside race is powering the real race!
Meanwhile...
Sparky keeps firing signals, ATP keeps giving energy,Captain Myosin keeps pulling..
this is muscle contraction in action!
