Introduction:

Water is important for everyone. SDG 6 is about clean and safe water. In this story, children see a dirty river. They want to help and protect clean water. Let us read and learn about SDG 6.

There was a small town. In this town, there was a group of children. They were good friends. Every day, they went to school together. 

One day, the children saw something strange. The river near the school was brown and dirty. Fish were gone, and the water smelled bad. The children were worried.

They asked their teacher about it. The teacher said, “This is not safe. You should find where the dirty water comes from. Take notes. Take photos. Then tell people.”

They started to look for clues. They walked along the river. Soon, they found a big pipe from a factory. Dirty water was coming out. The factory boss was sending waste into the river. “We must stop it.” the children said.

The next day, the children went to the factory and told the boss. The boss was angry. He shouted, “Go away! This is my factory. If you talk about it, you will be in trouble!” The children felt scared, but they did not stop.

That night, the boss sent some workers. The workers broke the posters. They took the photos and threw them away. They tore their notes. All the children’s evidence was broken.

The next day, the children were very sad. “Our photos are gone,” one child said. “But we still know the truth,” another child said.

  They listened to their teacher again.

They took new photos. They wrote new notes. They made new posters.
