In a quiet town full of colours and laughter lived a little child named Ray. Ray was special, a bright mix of Mom’s colours and Dad’s colours, all shining together.

Some people had skin like warm sand.
Some had skin like rich cocoa.
Some had skin like soft peaches.
But Ray?
Ray was a blend, a little bit of this, a little bit of that…
A beautiful mix, like sunrise.

Sometimes Ray heard whispers:
“Are you this?”
“Are you that?”
“Why don’t you look like your mom?”
“Why don’t you look like your dad?”

Ray felt small, like a cloud covering the sun.

One day Ray asked his Mom, “Why am I different?”
Mom smiled. “You’re not different, my sweet star. You’re a Rainbow Kid  full of many colours, many stories, and many strengths.”

Dad picked Ray up.
“Mixed children,” he said, “are like tomorrow  people".
You carry the best of many worlds.
You are the bridge, the hope, the light that connects us all.”

Ray blinked.

“A rainbow?”
“Yes!” said Dad.
“You shine with colours that only you have.
No one else in the whole world looks exactly like you and that is magic.”

The next day at school, Ray watched other kids.
Some were tall, some tiny, some loud, some quiet…
Everyone carried their own colours.

Ray thought, And mine are beautiful too.
