A Nameless Dog
Since the beginning I was lonely. I was born in a rotten tree trunk that had fallen down. It had a terrible stench, and fungus growing all over it. Mother didn't do a great job searching for a home.
Mother was a rather cruel and racist dog. She didn't like me since I was born. When I was born, mother looked at my fur color and threw me away. She was black, while I was multicolor.
My siblings also were black and unfortunately had the same attitude as her. I wobbled back to her, thinking the bad things were over, I was wrong...
12 days passed, and I opened my eyes. I saw my mother's fur, and my siblings' black fur too. Mother had seen we opened our eyes, and I guess she was planning for this. She grabbed me by the scruff of the neck and threw me once again.
I landed in a pile of sticks. I looked at mother, and she looked at me, carelessly. I limped back to her. She barked at me. Then she stood up and growled at me. I looked at her, terrified. I walked towards her. She bit me. I howled with pain and then fell down. I was still for a very, very, long time. When I woke up, I managed to stand up and see where I was. I looked at the
tree trunk that once I had called home. Empty. No one was there. When I blacked out, mother seemed to have run away with my siblings, leaving me alone and helpless. I knew I couldn't stay here.

A Cruel World
When mother left me, I somehow knew that she left me for good. I knew I was alone in this and that if I didn't find a home soon, I would die. I walked through the dense woods, with sharp stones and muddy pits. Each time I took a step it felt like I was stepping on nails. I walked for a long time, till nighttime came. I saw a pile of leaves and I slept there. It was awful, my first night without mother by my side. Even though I
knew she didn't like me, I loved her. She had been my shelter for 12 days, and even though it was a short time, she was still my mother.
I woke up with a start. A chilling, loud, shriek was heard at dawn. I shivered. A howl was heard. I heard it coming closer, and closer.
I began running, towards nowhere. I didn't know where I was heading. Then, I heard
a close rumble. I kept running, till they got me.
I felt that thud. I felt everything. I feel like it was yesterday. A huge, paw with huge claws struck me to the ground. The thing growled, I whimpered. A whole pack of wolves had tracked me down. And apparently, they were hungry.
No, that's not the right word. They were starving.
No Mercy
The wolves who caught me had no mercy. They jumped and attacked me, nonstop. I had no energy. I hadn't eaten in two days, and I felt my energy was fading. I gave up, it wouldn't help fighting back. I just fought with the pain.
Then a miracle happened.
I was giving my last breath, when the wolves suddenly ran away. A bear, who was disturbed
by the shrieking, was very annoyed. It growled, then stood on his legs, making him even bigger. Then he went back down and trapped a wolf. She whimpered, but she was down. The wolves ran away, leaving me alone. The bear didn't even notice me. It just went with his meal and didn't look back. I stood weakly on my legs. I tried walking, but I was too injured. I laid there, helpless and tired. After an hour, I felt a bit better.
I limped towards the creek and drank some water. I felt so tired. I continued limping. I was hungry, and I didn't have anything to eat. If I wouldn't die of predators, would I die of hunger?

A Road
I walked through the woods. Then I saw a dead squirrel. I trotted towards it cautiously. I sniffed it for a while, then I ate it. It felt so good to eat. Then I understood what I had to do. I didn't have milk, so I had to eat other animals.
I walked through the woods, feeling stronger. I was always alert for any animals that might want a snack. Soon, my legs began to hurt. I
decided to rest. I rested by a tree. I dreamed of mother and me, running together in the sunset. My siblings appear and she leaves me on a high cliff, alone.
I wake up with a start. The clouds start gathering and turning gray. I continued walking. After a while, I see a clearing. I trot over to investigate. A car swooshes by me,
barely missing my head. Three more cars swoosh by me. I back up into the forest, ready to turn back and leave, but something catches my nose.
Turkey.
I turn back quickly, and see a bag at the other side. I waited for the cars to stop, to make my move. I sat there, waiting. If Kristina would have
been there, she would have said I was patient.
I waited 5 hours for the cars to slow down. It was dark once they stopped. I was also hungry. Fewer cars swooshed by. Then, when the cars stopped, I ran towards the other side of the road. I stopped right next to the turkey. It was inside a bag. I teared the bag, and found the turkey inside. The turkey was inside the bag.
I ate the half-eaten turkey leg, and ate some of the bread inside. I was full, and I didn't want to risk myself going through the road again.

A Human
As I was resting by the side of the road, I heard a terrible screech. I stood up, and noticed a car parked in front of me. The lights burned my eyes. Then, a woman hurried out. "Poor puppy" she mumbled. I was frozen with fear. Who is this standing giant? As she walked towards me, a alarming thought entered my brain; could this giant do me harm? I ran towards the road, but it was too late. She grabbed me by the neck,
and held me tightly. I tried wriggling out, but it was no use. "You must be freezing," she said to me. No, I am not "freezing" and I want to be let out! She carried me to her car, and put me in a box with a lid on it, and then put the box in the front seat. She then walked around the car, and then sat in the seat next to me. I whimpered. "Your name will be Bailey" she said as she drove.
A few minutes later, she stopped. "This is your new home, boy!" she said cheerfully. I didn't want a home. I wanted mother, I wanted to be near the turkey bag. But I guess she didn't care, because she was bossing me around now. She let me free after she brought me inside of her home. I looked around the room. It was filled with expensive stuff, because she said "Be
careful Bailey, everything is very expensive here." But I didn't know what being careful meant, so I sniffed around till I found a carpet I liked. Then I relieved myself in the middle. The woman came back in the room, holding a bowl of water. She gasped as she saw the stain on her carpet. "Bad boy Bailey!" she yelled as she slapped me on the snout. She shoved me into
the box, and went to get a bottle of stain remover from the kitchen. She scrubbed the carpet as much as she could, but the stain could not get out. "Stupid dog" I heard her mumble before leaving to get another bottle of stain remover. After an hour of trying to clean the stain, she gave up. She cut holes at the bottom of my box, put a lid on it, and shoved me into
the kitchen. She forgot to take me out or didn't want to. I curled up in the box as she turned the light off. At midnight, I needed to relieve myself. I whimpered and whimpered, then I began to bark. The woman came out of the hallway looking groggy. "What is it?" she mumbled. "Stop barking." she said as she turned around. I couldn't hold it any longer. I relieved myself in a
corner of my box. I then curled up far from the water.
When the woman woke up, she noticed her floor was wet. She then knew she had made a mistake by cutting holes at the bottom of the box. She was angry, you could tell by her face. She shoved me into another box, and
grabbed a handful of paper towels. She then began to "clean" the floor. All she did was swish everything underneath the dishwasher. She spent 2 hours cleaning it. When she finished, she grabbed my box and set it in the dining room corner. She ate her breakfast, but didn't give me any. She was on her phone, watching news. Not interested that I was hungry. After
eating, she got dressed up and grabbed my box. She set it on the back of the car. She then drove for what seemed for hours. I felt very scared.

A Cold Swish of Water
The woman parked her car in a nature trail, got off, and then carried my box to the woods that were off the trail. Soon, I heard a rush of water. The woman opened my box, and threw me in the air. I howled as I flew through the air. I landed in a cold swish of water. The water carried me up and down, drowning me. I was carried by a river, a crazy river. I gasped air when I got the
chance, and swirled in circles underwater. Soon, I felt weak. I didn't have the strength to keep going. Suddenly, the river slowed down. Not stopped, just slowed down. I used the bit of energy left to go to the surface. When I reached the surface, I gasped big gulps of air. I was still in the river, but the river had slowed down, making me able to reach the surface. I tried
swimming towards the shore, but the current was too strong. I dove underwater, hoping to get to the shore.

To The Shore
I swam towards the shore, using every single bit of energy left in me. I dove underwater and swam to the surface to gasp for air. I dove underwater, and when I gasped for air, the shore seemed a few feet away. The shore wasn't a few feet away. It was around a meter away. The cold water sapped my energy, making me weak and tired. But I was determined. Don't stop.
Don't stop. You have to keep moving. My mind raced with thoughts why I should keep moving. Then, I had almost reached the shore when a wave almost ten times my size hit me. It washed me away, making me hit many rocks and twigs. The wave kept pushing me, and at one point I had too much rocks. My head hit a rock, making me blackout. I thought I was going to die.
When I woke after the blackout, I found myself on top of a rock. The same rock that almost killed me now saved me. I stood up, and saw three rocks in front of me. The three lead to the shore. I jumped on the first one, then the second one. I looked at the third one. I jumped on it, but I slipped and fell in the water. Luckily, the water was not deep and the current was not
strong either. I walked out of the river, and headed away from the river.

Summer Comes, Summer Ends
Summer in Montana was an okay place for me. The weather was hot and moist, and children played outside of their houses. People went to a place called the pool, which kind of looked like a small lake. I hunted, or raided the trash cans when hunting was bad. I would stay away from humans. I would move from towns monthly, I didn't like to stay much or people would call
the animal control people, which weren't very kind. I would sometimes jump in small creeks or rivers to cool down, but nothing too deep. Wolves would sometimes roam these areas, so I kept myself out of view when they where there. I thought seasons were going to be like this, hot and humid, but nothing too bad. I was wrong. When summer ended, I felt the air get lighter and
less humid. Children didn't play much outside, I would see them in large buildings. Wolves suddenly started growing in numbers, and food was more scarce.

Wolves
One brisk morning, I was walking towards the creek to drink water. The wolves were there. I looked at them, and jolted towards the woods. However, the wolves noticed me before and sprinted to attack. I tumbled to the ground with force, as all the wolves shove me into the ground. I escape, running away quickly. I don't see where I am headed and I run into the creek.
All of the wolves jumped on me, drowning me in the creek. I struggle to breathe and I couldn't get to the surface. My air was running out, and even if I tried my best, I couldn't get out. I bit a wolf on his neck, and he let me go. Now I had to do that with twenty-one more wolves. I grabbed wolves by the neck and pulled them towards the bottom of the creek. They couldn't swim well, so
they frantically moved their paws in the water.
When the wolves gave up, they pushed me further into the water. I grasped air before I landed softly at the bottom of the creek. I looked up at the surface, and began swimming towards the surface. Once I got out, I took a deep breath of the air. I looked around, twigs and broken branches surrounded me. I sat by
the river bed, thinking about mother and my siblings. Maybe, just maybe, if I were black like everyone, I would be in a better condition....

Harsh Winter
Despite being cold and hungry, I survived my first winter. I was cold and hungry, but my thick fur helped me a lot. Even though there was no snow, it was cold and ice and hail did come down. I kept myself away from rivers, because I had bad experience with them (It would have been too cold for me to go in them, anyway) only going near them to drink water. Towns
