Chapter 1: The Fancy Fur
Riley is a Rough Collie with fur as long as a princes' gown and a nose as sharp as a carrot. To most people, Riley looks very serious and very royal. He is sable in color with a majestic white mane. But Riley has a secret: he was a total goofball.
While other Collies like to sit tall and pose for pictures, Riley likes to chase his own tail until he turns into a giant, fluffy donut. He even has one ear that flops over and one that stands straight up, which makes him look extra silly when he wiggled.
Chapter 2: The "Snoot" Problem
Riley's snout is very long, with a little bump in the middle. It was excellent for smelling treats, but often gets in the way.

When he tries to sniff a flower, his bumped snout will accidentally poke it. BOOP!
When he tries to drink water, he will dunk his whole face in. SPLASH!
And when he gets excited, his long legs don't know where to go. He looks less like a royal dog and more like a wobbly spaghetti noodle.

Chapter 3: The Wiggle and the Woo-Woo
Riley isn't just a goofy to look at; he is very goofy to listen to! Most dogs bark, but Riley likes to moan and groan. If he is happy, he sounds like a rusty gate. If he is sleepy, he sounds like a grumpy old bear.
But there was one thing that makes Riley create his funniest noise of all. The Great Rump Rub!
Whenever Dylan or Avery sits on the floor, Riley doesn't just walk over--he "parks." He walks past them, then slowly reverses his fluffy backside until he is pressed right against their legs. This was the Collie Lean. He leans so hard that Dylan and Avery have to plant their feet just to stay upright!

"Okay, Riley," Avery giggles.
"I know what you want."
As soon as she or Dylan starts scratching the very top of his back, right near his kinked-up tail, Riley goes into a trance.
His one upright ear twitched...
His one floppy ear bounced...
The little bump on his snout wrinkles up in pure joy.
