Even though you're no longer here beside me, you live forever in my heart and in every memory we made. I love you and miss you more than words can say.
Love,
Your Jenny

Jenny had a Grand-pap, the best you could find,
a man named Cecil, so thoughtful and kind.
With strong, gentle hands and a warm, smiling face,
he made the world feel like such a bright place.
If Jenny felt sad or she scraped up her knee,
he'd whisper, "My girl, come and sit here with me."
His lap was a kingdom, the safest spot too,
A hug from her Grand-pap fixed all that was blue.

But sometimes young Jenny was silly and fast,
a blur in the grass as she zoomed right on past!
She'd leap in his lap with a giggle and yell,
and he'd laugh till he wheezed-- oh, he thought it was swell!
"Well, look what I caught!" he would shout with a grin,
as she wiggled her toes and she crinkled her chin.
They'd laugh till their bellies were achy and sore,
then they would catch their breath...
and they would laugh some more!

Each afternoon in his white plastic chair,
Grand-pap sat out in the fresh, open air.
He would wave at the cars as they drove down the street,
with a neighborly nod that was friendly and sweet.
Jenny waved, too, with her arms open wide,
standing right there by her Grand-pap's side.
"Kindness, "he said, "is a treasure to share,
just smile and wave--show the world that you care.
When golfers walked by, taking swings in a row,
Grand-pap would chuckle and put on a show.
"Look, Jenny! The goofers are at it again.
And the two of them started to giggle right there and then.
When the sun was out bright, they would head to the yard,
where the beans were all growing and they worked real hard.
"Plants grow with love," he would say with a wink,
as they gave the dry dirt a long, cool drink.

Snap! Snap! Snap! went the beans in their hands,
as Jenny kept up with her Grand-pap's plans.
"You're the speediest snapper I've ever seen!"
and Jenny felt taller than any pole bean.
