Plastic is a well-known material for shampoo bottles and water bottles; it is called PET, which is not biodegradable. PET is made from petroleum and can stay in the environment for hundreds of years. PLA, on the other hand, is a biodegradable plastic made from plants like corn or sugarcane. PET is strong and useful for holding liquids, but it creates long-term pollution because it does not break down. PLA can decompose in soil with heat, moisture, and microorganisms, making it safer for nature. Both PET and PLA are used to make containers and packaging, but they have very different environmental impacts. PET builds up in landfills and oceans, harming animals and ecosystems. PLA breaksdown much faster, reducing waste and helping protect the environment.
