During my first semester studying software development, I struggled to understand how Python's While loops worked.
While reviewing an assignment late at night, I couldn’t figure out why my code was not doing what I wanted it to do.
After spending hours reading documentation and watching videos, I decided to use an AI tool to explain the concept step-by-step.
Within minutes, the explanation helped me understand not only how loops worked but why my code was failing. That moment completely changed how I approached learning technical concepts.
THE INCIDENT

An LLM (Language Learning Model) is an AI model that can answer questions, explain concepts and assist with problem solving.

THE TECHNOLOGY
The rise of Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) demonstrates how digital technology has already begun transforming the traditional educational model.
WHY THIS INCIDENT MATTERS
Instead of relying only on textbooks or lectures, I could now interactively ask questions and receive explanations tailored to my level of understanding.
I no longer had to rely on the schedules of tutors or office hours, I could get my questions answered immediately allowing me to learn quicker than ever before.
BROADER IMPACT ON EDUCATION
The increasing use of digital tools and AI in education is reflecting a change in society. Technologies such as online learning platforms, MOOCs are shaping how student access information and interact with course material.
As these tools become more available to the broader population (democratization of technology) this can allow students and professionals to have more time and energy to do more.
Just as blogs and social media democratized publishing by allowing anyone to share information online, modern AI tools allow students to access explanations and learning support instantly

REFLECTION
As digital tools continue to develop, it will play an increasingly important role in education, helping students adapt to complex subjects and solve problems more efficiently.
This allows education to cater to different learning styles and individual strengths.
