The Boston Tea Party was a day when many British sailed to America to dump tea into the harbor to yell that the tea taxes were wrong

The Boston Massacre

The Boston Massacre was a day when there was a big fight in the middle of a big town, and it made the soldiers mad and made them angry enough to fight to the death

The Townshend Acts

The Townshend Acts were when the British put a really big tax on many things, like food and things people need for everyday. This did not make people happy and made American people mad.

Lexington and Concord were two cities the British wanted to attack, and instead, a spy from America found out and sent warnings, which made the Americans ready for the attack, which started a big fight and kicked off the war.

The result

Because of all the fighting from both sides, it made the people in America want to become their own country, and that started the big war called the American Revolution

The Battle of Bunker Hill

 Most of the fighting actually happened on a place called Breed's Hill, not Bunker Hill

This was one of the first big fights, that showed everyone that the Americans were brave enough to stand up for themselves.

The Americans at one point were low on gunpowder, so their leader told them, "Don't fire until you see the Whites of their eyes!!!"

Battle of Yorktown

The American and French armies teamed up to surround the British so they couldn't escape.

This was the last big fight of the war. After this battle, the Americans finally earned their freedom,

The British leader was so sad after he sent a different person to give up his sword for him

 The government couldn't ask for money, so they were always broke.

 There was no president to make sure everyone followed the rules.

The constitution was like a rulebook to make sure there were no kings or queens who took over the country

Shay's Rebellion

Because the government was so weak, some people got very mad. This was a big warning that America needed a better plan.

Farmers who were war heroes were losing their land because they couldn't pay their debts.

The government didn't have an army to stop the rebellion, which scared leaders into wanting a stronger government
