Chapter 1: The Echo in the Attic
Twelve-year-old Lily hated her new house because it smelled like old lemons, damp wood, and every floorboard shrieked like a banshee. While unpacking in her bedroom, she went up to the attic, where she found a silver pocket watch tucked behind a loose brick. When she wound it, the air turned ice-cold, and a man appeared, shimmering like a winter-blur. This was Leo, and he wasn’t a "friendly" ghost; he was sharp-jawed and desperate, watching her with ancient wicked eyes

Chapter 2: The Deal of a Lifetime
Leo didn't haunt Lily with jumpscares; he followed her to school, whispering in her ear during lessons. He told her he was a traveler who had been cheated out of his life by a curse. To become human again, he claimed he just needed a "spark" of living energy. Lily, being a resourceful and curious sixth-grader, wanted to help him. But she noticed that whenever he stood near her, her own skin turned pale, and her breath came out in wintery puffs, even in the middle of Florida summer.

Chapter 3: The Ritual of the Silver Hour
Lily did some digging at the local library and found a news clipping from 1924. Leo hadn't been a "traveler”, but a thief who had tried to steal a legendary artifact called the Life-Siphon. The ritual he was tricking her into wasn't a "spark" of energy, but a full exchange. To get his skin and bones back, Leo needed to trap a living soul in the pocket watch, putting out her life to ignite his own. Leo doesn’t attack with weapons, so he plans to use the "The Breath Exchange" ritual, so every time he touches Lily, he gains a little more color, from grey skin to fleshy pink, while Lily’s fingertips turn as translucent as glass. She has to keep her hands in her pockets at school to hide the fact that she’s literally fading away. Lily realizes the silver watch isn't just a watch, but a timer. Every tick represents a minute of her life being transferred to him. By the time they reach the final showdown in the attic, Leo is almost fully solid, that he can even pick up a physical knife, while Lily has become a flickering, silent ghost.
