A treaty is a formal agreement between two or more governments

Some treaties that outline the Ojibwe are the White pine treaties that treaty allowed them to hunt and fish and gather in ceded land. Another one is the Treaty of La Pointe established permanent reservations for various Ojibwe bands in Wisconsin and Michigan and guaranteed permanent hunting and fishing rights on ceded lands.
