My House

Mum
Dad
Chapter 1 The Jetboat“Mum, you know I hate fishing!” I screamed. I
was on holiday with my family in Queensland,
the Gold Coast to be exact. We were staying in
an old, rickety, dark house near a river. “Then
take the jetboat. That’ll be safer,” Mum
suggested.
“Really?!! The jetboat?!!!” I screamed while
jumping for joy.

The jetboat is a red and blue jetski with a
foldback roof. “You can head out at 6pm
tonight.” I ran upstairs and jumped up and
down on my blue, yellow and white bunk bed.
“Tonight. Tonight’s the night,” I thought.

Chapter 2 Out at Sea“Farewell honey! I love you!” my Mum was
shouting as I left the safe shore.
“I love you too Mum! Bye!” I shouted. About
an hour later I had to light a lantern, scoop
some water into my drink bottle, cast out a
fishing net and stop the jetboat to do it all!

The Ocean
At 8.30 it was my bedtime. I started the
jetboat up and set off back home. Feeling
bored I decided to spice things up a bit. I
started to do a few wheelies, spins and circles
around on the jetboat. Suddenly the engine
burst, leaving me bedazzled and guilty!

Chapter 3 Hello!“Well, there go my chances of getting back
home,” I complained. Suddenly the water next
to me started to bubble. Cautiously, I peered
over. It bubbled some more. “AAAGGGHHH!!” I
screamed as a face formed in the water.

“Ooolllaaaaaaaa!” said a dolphin that suddenly
popped out of the water.
“AAAAGGGGHHH!” I screamed again.
“Whoa, whoa, whoa!” he said in a voice that
sounded like Mexican to me. “Stop screaming!”
I obeyed him like a puppy. “Oh my goodness!
It worked! It finally worked!! Sit!” he said.

Once again I obeyed him. Suddenly he started
shouting out orders! Like before, I obeyed. I
must admit, I was kind of scared.

HELP ME!!

Chapter 4 Friends“Well, I’m parched!” said the dolphin. “I’m
Horatchio. What’s your name?”.
Quaking, I replied, “Jack. My name is Jack.”
“What are you doing out here in the river?” asked
Horatchio.
“I’m supposed to be fishing but my ride broke
down. Aren’t you from Mexico?” I asked.
“Yes,” he replied.
“When you were shouting at me, why did you say
oh my goodness it worked, it finally worked?” I
asked Horatchio.

His face slumped. He frowned. “Back in
Mexico, we were so poor nobody, and I mean
nobody would listen! It was very annoying,” he
said.
