Once upon a time I went hiking in 

the forest.   I walked for five hours 

until I was exhausted.   By then it 

was dark.   I lit my torch to go look 

for a campsite.   After one hour I 

finally found one.   I lit a campfire, 

unrolled my sleeping bag and went 

to sleep.

The next morning I walked for seven hours.  

By then it was five thirty.   This time I tried to 

look for a better campsite.   After half an hour I 

finally found a cave.   Inside there was a crystal 

lake with magic fish.  

I tried to catch one and finally after one hour I 

did.   The fish said, “Eat me and I will grant you 

a wish.”   I took a bite and wished that I could 

be the ruler of the universe.   After making my 

wish I fell asleep.

The next morning I climbed up a cliff face.  

It was five stories high.  

When I was one meter away from the top I 

accidentally made a false move.   I fell 

down the cliff face.   I hit the cliff about 

twenty two times before I reached the 

bottom of the cliff face.   When I reached 

the bottom I had no scratches.   I could not 

believe it though, it felt like I had 

scratched myself fifteen times.

The next morning I climbed 

up a cliff face.   It was five 

stories high.  

When I was one meter away 

from the top I accidentally 

made a false move.   I fell 

down the cliff face.   I hit the 

cliff about twenty two times 

before I reached the bottom 

of the cliff face.   When I 

reached the bottom I had no 

scratches.   I could not 

believe it though, it felt like 

I had scratched myself 

fifteen times.

Then I realised my wish had come true.   I was the 

ruler of the universe!!!   I went to try out my other 

powers.   I found that I could fly, jump super high, kill 

animals to eat with my bare hands and do back flips 

and front flips.   I said to myself, “I have to make a 

choice.   I could be a villain or a hero.”   It was a hard 

choice but I finally made the choice.   I wanted to be a 

hero.

The first thing I did was choose a name.   There were 

lots to choose from but I chose Superman.   I couldn't 

believe it.   I was the first hero ever.   I flew to the 

costume shop and bought a red cape, a blue t-shirt and 

some blue pants.   I painted an S on the red cape.   I 

saved a pretty woman.   I was a fantastic hero.

After one year I had saved at least one thousand people.  

I got bored with being a hero.   It was a 24 hour job full 

time.   I decided to be a villain.

Being a villain was hard but I was good at it.   I 

destroyed the city.   I also kidnapped people and 

blew up the parliament house.   After a few years 

I went to prison for twenty four years.   For 

dinner I had sloppy porridge.   I didn't like it.  

Anyway my evil plans never worked.   After 

ten years there was a new hero.   His name 

was Spider man.   I had to stop his good 

plans but he was too good and he always 

won.

He was too good so I gave up and quit being a 

villain.   I put on my hero suit and kicked the door 

open.

I saved more people than Spider man and 

always won the Hero of the Year Award. I saved 

more people than Spiderman and always won 

the Hero of the Year Award.   Spiderman got 

jealous and decided to be a villain called Titan.  

I told him the thing about bad guys is that they 

always lose. 

Spider man had swinging powers.   After 

one year I had killed Titan and won the 

battle.  I had a one year break.   The 

world was much safer without Titan.  

I won a trophy and ten million dollars.  

Every day people asked me for 

autographs and I actually got my own 

museum.

I really enjoyed being a superhero.   Each day I 

had about one thousand people come to ask 

me for my autograph.   I moved to a different 

town called Lumber and tried my best to 

defeat five villains. 

It was a hard job but after a few years I 

finally defeated them and won all the battles.  

The hardest villain had heaps of weapons and 

took one year to defeat.

None of the towns needed 

me anymore.   So I didn't 

save anyone or anything.  

All the cities I went to were 

dumps so I decided to clean 

them.   Each town I went to 

had at least nine hundred 

pieces of litter.   Each 

country had at least one 

million. 

I had had enough so I asked each 

government in the world to ask everyone 

not to litter. 

By then I only had one million dollars 

left so I earned some more money for 

saving people and on my break I 

earned 9 million dollars in only five 

years.

I was rich again.   It was like a new start.   One 

evening a mighty dragon came with a god and 

the god said, “To win two extra powers you 

have to kill this dragon.”

I said, “Okay.”

“Three, two, one start the battle,” 

said the god.

After one hour of fighting I finally 

killed the dragon.
