Similarities of "CELL" life to that of a racetrack...

Welcome to the "Cell" race track.
The weather is perfect today for learning more about cells and their organelle's relationship to different parts of a race track. Pay close attention to the similarities and have fun learning about the different functions of these cell organelles.
"Ladies and Gentlemen...
Start your engines"

A cell is known as the building block of life and within each cell, there are many organelles that assist with the cells function. It takes many cells to make an organism and many people in the race track stands to cheering on their favorite race car driver.
The cell wall is used to support and protect the cell. Just as the fences or gates around the race track are used to control who is allowed into the parking lots surrounding the track.

The cell nucleus and the Race Control Center (AKA "Press Box") are used to control all of the activities. These parts are very important because they are the hub or center of everything happening around them.

The nucleolus is located within the nucleus and the nucleolus of the race track would consists of the people within the press box who are watching for activity on the track which could cause issues or even send the race to caution.

The cells mitochondria produces the cells energy and it could relate to the pit stop area of the race track which is where the race cars stop to get fuel and change tires before they are right back on the track racing.

and refuel!
Chloroplast produce food and energy for the cell. The "chloroplast" at the race track could be the consession stands where viewers go to purchase food and drinks.
Is it time for
some energy?

Just as cytoplasm fills up the "space" within a cell, there are many things that can be found within the perimeter of the race track itself. All organelles of a cell are located within the cytoplasm which allows the organelles to move freely. Some of the items that take up "space" within a race track perimeter would be the parking lot, the viewing stands, people and the race track itself.
These tiny parts of a cell known as
chromosomes are found in the nucleus and their main function is to carry everything used to help a cell grow, thrive, and reproduce.
The race track chromosome would be the speakers, cameras, chairs and tables and any other items within the press box overlooking the track.
