I Am Poem
I am a lover of all people
I wonder how people can be so cruel
I hear the harmful words given out like candy all around
I see the kids tormenting one another
I want to make a difference
I am going to become the difference
I pretend that everyone is nice and caring
I feel too small to be able to make such a big change
I worry things will never get better
I cry for all the lives lost
I am a feeler
I understand all emotions felt by others
I say helpful, wise words
I dream for better days
I try to make a difference
I hope to change the world
I am the difference

Recreation Poem
I walked to my car in the middle of one gray December morning
I felt cold as ice that not even making a fire in my hands would help
My porch light burned yellow like a school bus
Although the there was frost cracking, my window was covered with so much that I could not see through it
I did not start my car right away
I could hear a few cars hissing past
My vision was blurring for there was fog
hanging like old coats
This girl walked past the parking lot, her face bright
I had mistaken the light in her eyes for a diamond
Her smile cost a dime
I would have said hello to her but the cars tiered like bleachers across the street
So instead I started up my car and watched as she walked away
On the YMCA pool deck
We were all on the YMCA pool deck
Everyone started stretching
On the YMCA pool deck
The coach explained the sets
On the YMCA pool deck
There were no parents present, except for my mom
On the YMCA pool deck
They found her quite beautiful
On the YMCA pool deck
They said her eyes sang with love and passion
On the YMCA pool deck
There was never a time when she was not present
On the YMCA pool deck
Everyone knew her voice
On the YMCA pool deck
For she had the voice of an angel that never dulled
On the YMCA pool deck
Her hoots and hollers made them feel like a pro
On the YMCA pool deck
But now she is no longer there
On the YMCA pool deck
Her time has come to an end
On the YMCA pool deck
Definition Poem
Excitement: [ik-sahyt-muh nt], noun, other form hyperexcitement,
an excited state state or condition; something that excites:
When coach announces there is no morning practice the next day;
When I finally get my bi-weekly paycheck;
When my dad buys me a new kneeskin that is as tight as a pythons squeeze;
When I final at a championship swim meet;
When I receive most valuable player from the past swim season;
When my dad lets me leave the house for no reason;
When I meet new friends and make new memories;
When I am at the peak of a rollercoaster.
Limerick Poem
I love that I have a friend who swims
And the feeling she says she gets when she wins
When they say ¨take your mark¨
That means your about to start
Oh my gosh, she is winning without even wearing fins!
Ode Poem
Little oh little your name is deceiving
You are so fat I do not know how you are breathing
When people try to pet you, you never let them near
You always just growl and cause them fear
Now I know deep down that you are a lover
There are just some times you can be so stubborn
I love the way you waddle and the little grunts you make
Your bark is so small even though you think you are as big as a bear
I remember the first day we got you
I will never forget you even after your time in my life is up
