Olivia's Safari Adventure
Written by:
Holly Villarreal, Priscilla Torres & April Zuniga
Olivia had big plans today! It was the day of her Safari trip. Olivia had been planning this trip for months. Her mother said she could feed all the animals, but she would have to save her chore money. She had only managed to save eleven dollars, but it was just enough to feed all of her favorite animals.

Olivia packed her money carefully, and ran to the car. During the ride to the safari, Olivia thought of all the animals she wanted to feed. There were cute little goats and big spitting llamas. There were huge buffalo that ate little berries, but none of those were her favorite. Olivia knew feeding the giraffes would be the last, and best, stop of the safari.
They arrived at the safari, and Olivia could't be more excited. She saw the sign to feed the animals and was relieved that her $11.00 would be enough money to feed them all! She was ready
to start her safari
adventure!
Feed the Animals
Goats: $1.00
Llamas: $2.00
Buffalos: $3.00
Giraffes: $4.00

After reading the sign, Olivia knew feeding the goats would be the first stop. She reached into her purse and pulled out a dollar to pay.
Feeding the goats was so much fun. It was worth the one dollar she paid. Once they were done she gave them a soft pet and moved on to the next animal. She had $10 left and she was ready to feed the llamas.

When they got to the llama pen Olivia was ready. She paid her two dollars to the guide and received grain to feed the llamas. She put away the rest of her money, counting $8.

The llamas were such sweet animals. They ate gently out of her hand and did not spit on her. When they finished the whole pail of grain, Olivia moved on to the next enclosure.
This enclosure was for the buffalo. Olivia pulled $3 dollars out and paid for the bright red berries. She put her remaining $5 in her purse and grabbed the two bunches of berries she paid for.

The buffalo looked so silly with the berry juice running down its' chin. Olivia giggled but seeing the juice also made her thirsty.
She knew the group was stopping for ice cream soon. A big scoop would help quench her thirst.
