GAMEPLAY:
How to Beat The game
This is how to kill colossi. (Including Unused) This guide is for killing them, and any other methods are allowed to be put in the comments. Thank you.
The Story
The story starts with Wander stealing the Ancient Sword and entering the Forbidden Lands. Along with Agro, he takes a woman named Mono to the Shrine of Worship. She is wrapped in a cloth, and is laid out over an altar. A little bit after shadow creatures appear from the ground and threaten Wander, but he simply banishes them. Afterwards, Dormin's voice speaks, showing surprise that Wander wields the weapon. Wander asks Dormin if he can
revive Mono, bringing her soul back to her body. Dormin replies it may be possible, but only if the sixteen statues of the colossi are destroyed. (Wander's probably thinking: Let me just get a hammer-) But the only way to destroy the idols are to kill the sixteen colossi scattered across the Forbidden Lands. Then, even though Dormin's warning that he might have to pay a great price to bring her back to life, Wander sets out on an adventure to kill them. However, Wander's "price" is starting to affect him.
After defeating the eighth colossus, it is clear that Wander's hair is getting darker, he is growing marks across his face, and his skin becomes paler and paler. Soon, after the defeat of the twelfth, the game reveals the fact that Wander is being followed by a group of troops led by Lord Emon. So, as Wander rushes for the ritual to be over and Mono to be revived, he sets out to destroy the sixteenth and last colossus. On the way to his lair, Wander crosses
a crumbling bridge that will break and release Wander below. Wander, struggling to get to the other side, rides Agro, using her speed to reach the end. However, the end of the bridge collapses too early, sending Agro below to the sea. However, she bucks Wander off to safety. Phew! But not phew for Agro, as she plummets to the sea below the two. Wander continues and succeeds to finish off the final colossus.
The Colossi
VALUS
On the way to Valus, first go through the Shrine of Worship and then head to where the saving statue is. Then continue heading south. If needed use the sword beam. Then continue the path and climb up all the way to the top where you'll see Valus. The game will show you how to climb the walls, if you don't know. (But if you have tutorials off in the settings, then no.)
Valus: How to beat
Go around to the back of the colossus. Climb up and then rest for stamina. Make your way to the head of the colossus and then stab the vital points.
Normal mode: On head
Hard mode: On head, right arm
QUADRATUS
To head to Quadratus, just head north. Right behind the Shrine of Worship, there is a beach. Head to it and then go around to where you see a cracked wall. Head up to it and then it will break. There's Quadratus coming out of the wall.
Quadratus: How to beat
Equip the bow and shoot the underside of its foot. Then climb up and stab the vital points.
Normal mode: On head, on back
Hard mode: On head, on back, on left side
GAIUS
In order to head to Gaius, act as if you're going to Quadratus. Then turn left and continue that way. Then go the northwest path and you'll find a large body of water. In the middle is an arena. Head up the pathway and then jump across to the arena. There you'll find Gaius.
Gaius: How to beat
Trick him into hitting his sword into the center platform. Then his armor will break. Make him hit anything and then climb up. Then stab his vital points. (FOR TROPHY JUMP ON SIDE "RESIST THE WRIST")
Normal mode: On head, on stomach
Hard mode: On head, on stomach, on back of left arm
PHAEDRA
Head out of the Shrine of Worship and then go to a southeast opening. Then continue until you see a passageway going down, like a little cliff, with a pit next to it. Then continue going down until you see four passageways leading underground. Then keep going forward until you see a big colossus.
Phaedra: How to beat
Trick the colossus by going underground. It will start looking for you. Then walk out the opposite way you got in, get on Agro, and ride. Jump onto a rock column, and then stab its vital points.
Normal mode: On head
Hard mode: On head, on sides (left and right) below neck
AVION
Avion lies directly east of the Shrine of Worship, around a lake. Head to the eastern areas and you'll see a save shrine and a fruit tree. Then continue on the path until you see a blocked-off area. Swim under and then start climbing upwards. Then you'll see a lot of pedestals. Guess who's on one? Avion.
Avion: How to beat
Go on to the center platform on the lake and shoot at Avion. He will fly towards you and as he does jump on his neck fur and climb up. Then stab his vital points.
Normal mode: Tail, wings
Hard mode: Tail, wings
BARBA
When you get to this colossus, head to the Autumn Forest, as the sword indicates. Then head to the end of the woods to the Blasted Lands. Head to a temple where you'll see a path. Head down the temple and pass the obstacles. When you get there Barba will come out of a previously-closed wall, which opens coincidentally for his exit.
Barba: How to beat
After the wall opens lead him to the broken columns. Make him break the walls until you find a low path that Barba cannot reach. Go under and Barba will kneel down, searching. Climb his beard and then stab his vital points.
Normal mode: Head, back
Hard mode: Head, back, back of left hand
HYDRUS
To get to Hydrus go north of the Shrine. Then you can go to the Stone Arch Gorge (see map) or Dried Marsh. From SAG you can get there quicker, but with not much help from the sword. From DM you can head to a safe path to Hydrus' lair, and it's safer, since you can use the sword. Either way you can make it to a large pedestal. Energy horns..... Hydrus' horns.
Hydrus: How to beat
Swim in the water. At some point Hydrus will come out, bringing his tail up. Climb and scale the beast. Stab points of his horns (is possible to avoid the first two) and deactivate its energy. Then take out the last one and stab its vital points.
Normal mode: Head
Hard mode: Head
KUROMORI
The sword directs Wander southeast, and all you need to do is keep going southeast until you see a fork in the path. Right is a shrine, which I recommend to save at. Then head to the other path and look for an entrance into the big cylinder shaped arena, which is a coliseum, and inside is Kuromori.
Kuromori: How to beat
Climb up to the top of the arena. Whistle to get his attention. Then go to the opposite side and shoot his legs (2). Then (trick time) roll under the bars and stab his vital points. (FOR TROPHY ROLL UNDER BARS "GROUNDED SCALER")
Normal mode: Between legs
Hard mode: Between legs
BASARAN
Head north of the Shrine of Worship and take the west bridge. The sword will continue taking you west until you see a save shrine. Save there, since Basaran can pack a punch. From the shrine's perspective, head north and you'll find some geysers. Head across and then head east to a cave.
Basaran: How to beat
Take him to a geyser. Then wait for it to go off. He should fly up in the air. Then shoot his two legs on the ground. Climb up his back. Then stab his vital points.
Normal mode: Head
Hard mode: Head
DIRGE
To get to Dirge, head west and then cross a bridge. There is a save shrine if you make it to the right place, which is north of Dirge's cave. Head to the cave and go to the center, where a beam of light is erupting from a hole in the wall. Then from the sand Dirge emerges.
Dirge: How to beat
Get on Agro, you'll need her speed. Shoot his eyes while making sure that you're on Agro. Then climb up on his body and stab his vital points. (You probably have to repeat this at least once.)
Normal mode: Head, tail
Hard mode: Head, tail
CELOSIA
Head north of the Shrine of Worship and keep going north until you see a canyon. When you see it go down the canyon and head to where you see torchlight. Then go east of that and then turn to enter a new area. The cave. Jump across the gap and Celosia will jump out of a column in the ceiling.
Celosia: How to beat
Go to the place where a flame is lit. Celosia will try to attack you, and a torch will fall. Pick it up and then light it. Celosia will get scared. Drive her down the canyon and then climb on her back. Then stab her vital points.
Normal mode: Back
Hard mode: Back
PELAGIA
To get to Pelagia's lair, you need to head behind the Shrine until you see two pillars. Go to them and the cross a bridge. Continue until you see woods. Head right once entered the woods and exit. You'll see a waterfall, and a rock blocking the path. Climb around and then jump in the lake. Swim to the center and then get ready for a battle.
Pelagia: How to beat
Swim around Pelagia and then climb on. Then hit the bones on its head and take it to the ruined platforms. Then jump off and shoot its tusk. Then climbs its belly fur and stab its vital points.
Normal mode: Belly
Hard mode: Belly
PHALANX
Phalanx lies around Barba's temple, however northeast of there. Head through the Autumn Forest until you get to the Blasted Lands. From there, make your way to the Southern Desert until you reach ruins. Head to the ruin that has a platform. Then the sand will shake. Erupting from the remain is Phalanx.
Phalanx: How to beat
Shoot the air sacks under his body. Shoot all three groups of air sacks until he puts his wings down. While riding on Agro jump onto his wings and climb to the top. Then stab his vital points.
Normal mode: Under front, middle, and back fins
Hard mode: Under front, middle, and back fins
CENOBIA
To get to Cenobia you must head to the gorge at D2. Make sure to check the map once in the narrow passageways. Once you make it there look to see sets of pillars on any side. That's the entrance to Cenobia's lair. However you need to cross a large body of water, leaving Agro behind. Cross to the other side and to a temple that the colossus is atop. The colossus will jump off and the battle will begin.
Cenobia: How to beat
Knock down the large towers by climbing up. Repeat the process until you reach a larger tower. Jump to another small one and Cenobia will ram in, breaking the entrance side wall. Head over and climb up to the top again. Then make Cenobia ram in. This will break Cenobia's armor. Jump and stab her vital points.
Normal mode: Back

"SHADOW OF THE COLOSSUS GUIDE"
(2021 update) Hello, to my currently 0 fans that aren't real life friends! I am making lots of books on here but this is still my proudest work, and takes up like a ton of storage, which is why I don't put pictures in my newer books. This is my longest book until I finish Stardash: Chapter Two but who knows? Maybe it won't be as long. Sadly, I was wrong about being able to fight the Worm soon, but there's still hope in my eyes. The PS5 can bring whole new things for Shadow of the Colossus, just wait and see. Take care guys :)
