"Not everyone has equal abilities, but everyone should have equal opportunity for education." - John. F. Kennedy.

George was an intelligent young boy despite having a disability. George is the oldest child in his family and when he was 5 years old, all he dreamed of was to go to school like other kids.

When it was time for George to apply for school, his parents went to the nearest school to his house to enroll him. Little did they know it would be extremely difficult for him to join this school. The school rejected his enrollment because of his disability. George was very sad, but he didn't give up his hope of going to school.

George's father was a poor man who did not have a car to take George to a further school. However, George's mom used to read for him everyday and he enjoyed this time so much.
George's neighbor was a little girl named Suzy and they were great friends that enjoyed hanging out together. Suzy taught him the alphabet and how to write his name.

A few years later something happened that changed George's life forever! Suzy's parents shared exciting news with George and his family. They told them about a federal law was passed and called the Individuals With Disabilities Education Act . The IDEA law has six core principals and one of them is Zero Reject. This core principal means that every kid can attend school regardless of his race or disability.
The law itself offers protection for students like George who have disabilities and it gives them the right to have an equal education as their peers.

Finally, George's dream came true and he was able to have the right to go to school. He was so happy that he would have the opportunity to go to school with his friends.

Before George was able to start school, he had to get tested so he can be evaluated and placed in the classroom that best met his needs. According to this evaluation, they created an Individual Education Program (IEP) that included specially designed instructions, goals, supplementary aids and services that he might need.

Based on his IEP and according to (FAPE) which means Free Appropriate Public Education, George was qualified for free speech therapy sessions twice a week.
