There’s no other way to start this I guess other than introducing Anna. She is a bubbly 15 year old, or she was.. At least. We’ll get to that in a second. She was careless, wild and free. Just a typical teenager. You almost never see her with a frown on her face. Always wearing a big smile flaunting her pearly whites that I’m always missing. Her presence simply lights up a room. Her giggles melt the coldest of hearts but not his.

His was made out of rock. Disguised by a golden tongue surrounded by sweet lies. He cornered her in her most vulnerable moments. She was young and fragile and he took that softness away from her. He took advantage of her innocence and abused her trust. And that’s how she vanished. That’s how her story ends and mine begins.

The story of the survivor not the victim

My path to healing was not all milk and honey.

It was a rocky and lonely way. It did not happen overnight it took a while, a long while, actually. Some days, I feel like I’m on top of the world like I can do anything... like I’m the creator of my own destiny. No one in the whole wide world can control it or try to take that away from me, not even him. On those days, I feel so empowered like a true girl boss. I feel like myself. Other days, I feel so worthless and trashy that I can’t get myself out of bed.
