This book is dedicated to my teacher, Mrs. Zimmerman.

“AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!” I said. “IT’S MORNING!!!!! Oh, hello there.
My name is Zoe and I am a sea turtle. I’m at the sea urchin’s coral. If you didn’t know, my home is the coral reef. I looked back at the urchin. “He’s a super slow snail getting out of bed.” I thought. While I’m waiting, let me tell you more. Coral reefs are divided into four zones. The fringing, barrier, patch, and atoll zone. I live in the barrier zone. To be more specific, I live in the Great Barrier Reef. Anyways, whether he gets up or not, I’m leaving. So, I headed out into the wild, where all the adventures happen to take place. Little did I know that I was headed into a big one!! As I headed west, I heard a loud “Blooooop!!!!!” Us sea animals make noises like that when we’re nervous or scared. “Where did that come from?” I thought. As I headed towards the noise, I saw something big.. and grey. Wait a minute “THAT'S A SHARK!!” I screamed.

Even though I was quite terrified, I swam towards the littlest fish, who was the one who had made the sound before. “Let’s go!!” I said and dragged him away. When we reached a safe spot, I paused to look at little Henry. Tears were streaming down his face and he was crying. “Hey,” I said. “Didn’t it look like that shark weighed a million pounds!! And his eyes, they were as big as dinosaur eggs!!” “Yeah,” Henry sniffed “But.Whaz a shawk doo here? “Don’t worry. This coral reef is a biodiversity hotspot. There are hundreds, no thousands of animals that live in the coral reef,” I said. But what had a shark been doing there? I’d never seen one in that area. But I know, all good things must come to an end, one way or another. I left Henry there and looked for the shark. “Hmm. So he’s a tiger shark,” I thought. When I spotted him, I heard him say, “Soon, all the animals will be dead, and I’ll be the only one left! MWAHAHAHA!!” “He can’t do that!!” I thought. “Doesn’t he know he also depends on the other animals!! I’ve got to stop this!!”

I headed back to my coral to think about what I had just seen. I wonder how I would stop the tiger shark. How could he eat all those animals though? I live in the biggest coral reef, the Great Barrier Reef, which is more than 1,500 miles long. Then a horrifying thought struck me “What if he has friends!!,” I said. They could be all over the place right now, hunting for other animals. I need to get a move on!! I hid in coral, keeping myself out of sight. I wish I could help all those poor animals that were being gulped down. Did that shark not get full!! I heard a low rumble behind me .. and I turned around. I couldn't breathe, and everything went black...What happened there will never be known.

A little later I woke to the sound of, “Coral reefs are being harmed because of water pollution, overfishing, and now thi- Oh!! You finally woke up!! How are you feeling!!” said an octopus. “Who are you!! Let me go!!” I shouted. Who is this person who thinks he can just kidnap random animals out at sea!! The octopus didn’t seem to understand what I was saying by the look on his face. “Chill out! I’m only came by to tell you that I wanted to help you stop those shark. Almost everyone are in the protected areas now,” Said the octopus. “Fine. you can help,” I said. But just know I’ll be keeping a close eye on you and, don’t strangle people!! By the way, what’s your name?” “Zachary!!” he replied. Suddenly, we heard a loud growl behind us.
