Monty Martian loved Earth. In fact, he
loved it so much that he often went on short
day trips to Earth without telling his friends
and family.

Monty wanted to share his adventures
with his family but worried that
everyone would tell him to be sensible
and keep his feet on red Martian soil.
But Monty liked Earth's soil,
and he quite liked the trees
and creatures too!

Monty, dinner time!
Uh, oh!Sooner or later, Monty knew that he
would have to tell his family about his
Earth adventures. In fact, it looked like
he would need to tell them sooner, not
later!

Where have youbeen? Dinner's cold.
Monty realized that he had a lot of explaining to
do. It was the thirty-second time this year he
had been late for dinner.
I can explain...

Monty spoke of strange and wonderful things! He
spoke of tall leafy umbrellas growing out of the
ground.

He spoke of weird and wonderful creatures, big and
small, green and not green. You see, anything that
isn't green to Martians is very exotic, indeed!

As Monty recounted his fascinating
travels to his wife and kids, the
shimmering blue glow that usually
wraps itself around Earth slowly took
on a reddish hue.
Something very serious
was happening to Earth.

Monty had a very bad feeling. He and
his quick-thinking chameleon companion
jetted off to the edge of Mars in his
handy hovercraft to get a closer look at
the reddish glow that was enveloping
Earth.
Even the quick-thinking chameleon was
considerably concerned.

Meanwhile on Earth, an invasion was happening!
In a once jubilant and joyful jungle, enormous
mechanical monsters were beginning to destroy
the homes and hideaways of some of Monty's
new friends!

For many years, Monty had observed two-
legged Earth creatures in primitive looking
vehicles, crushing, flattening and destroying
the magnificent monuments of Earth's green
forests.
Monty could not understand why anyone would
want to destroy such beauty. He only wished
that Mars was half as beautiful as Earth!

Monty needed to act fast! Trading his hovercraft
for a spaceship, Monty and the chameleon began
their countdown to Earth. Monty couldn't wait
another 24 hours 39 minutes and 35 seconds
(that's a Martian day!). He knew he had to leave
now if he wanted
to save this beautiful
blue planet from certain
disaster!

Slower than usual, the Martian spaceship
journeyed toward Earth on its familiar path.
Monty could not figure out what was weighing the
ship down and causing it to move so slowly. Can
you?

The Martian spaceship hovered quietly over a
grove of palm trees. The mighty machines were
creating havoc on the ground and there was panic
in the air!

Well, there was more than panic in the air. It
appeared that once again, Monty was carrying a
couple of uninvited travellers on board his ship.
This time, it was
his own children:
Marty and Meg!

Uh oh... I think we're inbig trouble!
