Dedicated to all the soldiers who fought in the Vietnam war

Geneva Accords
Day 1 - April 26, 1954 : I am on my first day of this journalist trip for my job. Today, I was supposed to go to Switzerland to attend this conference titled "Geneva Accords". The conference was quite interesting to say the least, there were talks of resolving conflicts between the French and the Republic of the Vietnamese. One piece of info that really stuck out to me was the fact that Vietnam could be divided at 17th parallel similar to Korea's division.

Buddhist monks protesting president diem regime
Day 2 - June 11, 1964 : There were many Buddhist monks that protested the actions that President Diem was taking in his regime, and they protested in a way that sent chills down my spine, by igniting their skin with fire. I was in a state of shock where I could not even think let alone do anything to stop them.

Gulf of Tonkin Incident/Resolution
Day 3 - August 2, 1964 : Today marks where tensions rise between the North Vietnamese and the Western allies as the North Vietnamese navy attacked American ships, no deaths resulted from this attack however. I have heard from sources that the current US president, Lyndon B. Johnson will have his powers as a President to be extended to make the necessary decisions to deal with this conflict.

Operation Rolling Thunder
Day 4 - March 2, 1965 : After a few months of contemplation and careful/strategic planning, the US government decided to attack North Vietnamese military by bombing certain villages in South Vietnam that were suspected to contain the Viet Cong troops. The US also patrolled the transportation systems where the Viet Cong troops traveled to get from base to base.

Tet offensive
Day 5 - January 30, 1968 : The Viet Cong was using the means of guerrilla warfare to demoralize and and tire the American troops stationed in Vietnam. The guerrilla attacks mainly came in form of surprise attacks such as ambushes. These attacks were not only on Americans but South Vietnamese troops as well.

My lai massacre
Day 6 - March 16, 1968 : Frustrated with how long the war was going on and how the outcome wasn't favorable towards them, the Americans assaulted a nearby village assuming that it belonged to the Viet Cong, however it was home to hundreds of unarmed Vietnamese civilians.
