"Yawn!" It is morning and my mom woke me up to get ready for school. I am so excited because I am able to dress myself for school and my mom lets me pick out my outfit too!

When I get to school, my teacher has us all sit on the carpet for our morning routine. We talk about the weather for the day and then we practice counting on our chart by 5's and 10's. Sometimes I forget which number comes next but we practice every day so I know I will get better at remembering.

My teacher reads us a funny story about a duck and a cow that live on a farm. I like to look at the pictures. She stops after a couple of pages and asks questions about what happened so far or what we think will happen. Sometimes I have to think really hard to answer but I like to guess and then when she keeps reading we find out the answers.

When story time is over, we get to play at our classroom centers. My favorite center is the kitchen center because I get to ask my friends what they want to eat and make it for them. One time, Rebecca asked me for a pickle and pointed to the cucumber. I sometimes can not think of the right word for something and say a different word too.

After we play at our centers, we all sit on the carpet with our teacher and she holds up cards for us. Sometimes the cards have letters and sometimes they have pictures or colors and we have to tell her what is on the cards.

At school we also practice writing our letters and even write sentences. Sometimes I do not understand what to write and I raise my hand for my teacher to help me.

Coloring is one of my favorite things to do at school because after we color a picture, we get to stand up and share our drawing with the class. I like to tell my friends about my drawings. My friends raise their hands when I am done and say nice things about my picture.
