Preface
This book is about a young bird who didn't learn to trust and have friends until meeting a young wolf. This book is targeted towards a younger age group for children. I chose to write about trust and friendship for children and to show innocence among even the most unlikely people. I want children to be able to learn that it is okay to reach out and have friends that don't always fit in or look different than what we might have thought a friend to look like. In the images, I tried to show how big the wolf was compared to the bird, and that no matter how small or large, we could all be friends.

There once was a little brown bird. This little bird was small and shy. He was so scared to make new friends, especially if it was a bigger animal, he tried to steer clear of them.

One day, while flying through the woods, the little bird seen a big wolf. Knowing that a big wolf would eat him, he flew to the trees and hid until he thought the wolf would leave.

The little bird, trying to find where the wolf went, peaked through the bright green leaves of the tree to see where this ferocious wolf would have went and if the little bird was okay to start flying again freely. While stepping on a branch that wasn't sturdy enough, the bird began to tumble out of the tree!

Poor little bird landed right in front of the big wolf. "Please, don't eat me!" The little bird exclaimed. The wolf looked at the little bird. "Why would I eat you?" Said the wolf.

The little bird didn't even want to talk. He was petrified! The bird finally got the courage to tell the wolf, "I'm just a little bird, alone in the woods with no friends, you will surly want to eat me for lunch!"

The pretty gray wolf laughed at the little bird. "You silly bird, I will not eat you. I'm actually not hungry right now, and I eat things like berries and chew on sticks. Birds are not on my menu! You sound like you could use a friend, especially one as big as myself. What do you say to spending time with me? I can help protect you and you can help me find food!"
